Retake Event or Server

I see someone suggested a 1v1 server and it reminded me of playing retakes. I don't know if this would do well as a server because most people who play retakes stick to one or two servers. That's why as an event I feel like it could do a little better. I feel like the only thing holding back retakes is the amount of players allowed in. In most servers its 9 players (4T's, 5CT's). If it's already been tried or is not a good idea, just let me know nicely.

Could have the event first to see how people like it then have a server if people like it? That would be best then just see how many people actually liked the event.

I like retakes especially a good way to train for comp, I would say ask ec first to create some events to see how the community reacts to retakes.

Also I haven't seen many retake servers being bigger than 5v5s I imagine bigger ones exist but that makes it more a TDM

Could also just do a 5v5 server. Ever since x-law shut down it’s hard finding good ones

im pretty sure wed need a plugin that we dont have yet. the event server is still being worked on with plugins and such we could add that to something we could look into tho

The server would only be for 10 people (maybe a few more for waiting lobby) and we did a similar server a while back (Execute server). It had sparse support at the beginning and then it died. Not saying this is a deal breaker for it, but it makes it a very questionable idea to start with.

An event I can't see being all that great. People do retakes for the practice in competitive play, not to see a 10 vs 10 retake. I'll leave it open for further discussion, but thought I'd share my thoughts.

As an update to this,

In the new update, there were two toggleable barriers found on mirage, named ‘retake.asite’ and ‘retake.bsite’. Hinting that official retake servers may be coming to cs soon.

It's not 100%, but I'd say to wait a little bit.

While we do not plan on ever having a retake server, an event for this could potentially be done by one of the EC's, if they so choose. Feel free to bring it up to one of them to see if they would be interested in making something like this happen. Thanks for the suggestion~
