Oh god. The 9600 is a joke. If you have to but from Nvidia, get the 8800GT. It's cheaper and better than their shoddy 9series. Nvidia is getting lazy, they're using the same cores from their 8series in their new flagship 9series cards and raising the prices.

At least ATI is moving from the RV670 (i think) to the RV700.

i bought a 9600gt form xfx with a non oced core clock of 700, it may use the 8 series core but for 179 its a deal and bench marks show it getting 50+ on hl2 ep 2 full settings at 1920 x 1200
so i did the research and one is almost as good as a 8800gtx, 2 in sli pwns, but didnt have money for 2, well i did but i bought a capture card instead. for the performace to price ratio its better than a 8800gtx from what i can tell

ill find out tho if its as good as it claims and i woulda gone for an ati had not i been stuck to a 850$ bundget

The 9600GT is actually a decent card. It does bench more fps than the competitor's cars, ATI being the case. ATI always had problems with getting more fps out of their cards for some reason. Its a good buy bro.

The 9600GT actually isn't better than the 8800GT, if you want a huge upgrade go with the 9800GT that has 1GB of ddr3 video ram.

Have'nt had a single problem with my 9600 GT, remember now you have to have a good enough PSU or a really good PSU in order to get that beast porformance!
My PSU is at 700 OCZ. No problems what so ever

My buddy is running an SLi of the 9600GT with only 600wats for the powersupply. It works perfectly.
