Vista is great, Its not very buggy at all anymore, it works fine on all games for me , plus its got DX10.

ya thats really the only reason y i got it lol

vista is a resource hog on XP 1g of ram is pretty good you need at least 2 or 4 to run games well on vista

I love it. I'll never go back to XP ;)

And yea, its a resource hog, but DDR2 prices are so low now you don't really have an excuse to have less than 2GB of RAM.

~Gooda~

Aside from Vista being a hog and really no more different then XP expect for a few more useless futures, I dare not say I love it but I would say I love and hate it at the same time.

If Vista could lose some weight then it would be fine. Now if you made a poll on which OS you like better, Windows 2000 Professional or Vista.
Windows 2000 Professnial ALL the way for me, but unfortently my hardware is not combatable with Win2kp. Reason I got Vista was for expermental reasons only paid quite abit for it.

They claim to have more security then XP so far I agree, plus there going to pull the plug on XP and flush it down the can because they are lazy. Instead of improving XP they rather throw it out and start from scratch.

Its a marketing scam, keep upgrading the OS's means you have to keep on upgrading to keep up, and means more money.
The next windows will be very demanding on the PC and it will force you to upgrade your PC if you want to run that OS.
Gotta love them greedy money huggers at Microsoft.

This will never change, you are forever doomed to pay the price to go one up.. or should I say down?
Overall yes I like vista, have'nt had a problem so far, disappointed they forced me to upgrade? YES!

I used Vista for a month before switching back to XP, there were goods and bads of it obviously just like any other OS...

goods: it ran fine... it wasn't slow... I had 2GB of ram but eh whatever, it played my games just fine, never got to try dx10 tho...

bads: Some software I was using at the time (photoshop dreamweaver blah blah blah) ran horribly or wouldn't run at all on vista, Folding@Home is slower on vista, and the Driver signing thing is the most annoying thing I had to deal with.

other comments: If they are going to make a OS that hogs as much RAM as vista... they need to change the way the OS recognizes memory... with pretty much all modern motherboards supporting 8GB of ram... we need an OS that can use it.. the 64-Bit versions of the OS's aren't getting the driver support they need.. and the only 32-bit OS that can handle the ram is 2003 Sever EE...

i dont want to upgrade to it because it just has a bunch of fluff that i would never use imo.

I have sp1 of the home edition version. Works fine, no probs with it. I do have 3 gigs of ram, so theres no problems in the resource department. All in all, not a bad OS.

Uch Vista.

I've had so many problems with vista. My windows XP PC, which runs at a far lower spec than my vista machine, and It seems faster.

Vista was barable before SP1, SP1 causes a few more problems, and from what me and my college mates have talked about, it seems to vary user to user.
On my laptop My windows explorer keeps crashing (especialy when I open a folder lol) and on my friends, he kept getting disconnected from the internet (he uninstalled SP1 and it works fine now)

Then there is the software problems. (Movie maker doesn't work) etc

Granted Vista does give DX10, but in my oppinion that's all. Oh and the snipping tool, I love that.
For those that don't know it: it's a handy screenshot grabber, but you can choose where it captures.

I'll shutup now ^_^

Just my oppinion :P

lunaR.

I think it was meant to lol, it just causes them though :P
hehe, I think microsoft are just trying to make as many OSs as possable to get money :-P

They are releasing another in 2010 lol (Windows 7 aka Vienna)

If linuz wasn't so borin I would use that :P

ive had vista ultimate sp1 for a few days now, and i havent ran into any problems so far, i guess im just lucky :D cuz ive been hearing so many ppl complaining about stuff not working on it and thier comps being really slow, but ya i dont have any problems with it and if anything it made my comp faster
