Anyone have good suggestions on where to buy peripherals? I’m looking for a new keyboard, headset (either with mic or no, probably buying a standalone mic however), and monitor in a couple of weeks because I’m finally upgrading to a big boy desktop instead of my laptop. Very excited.
Just need some places to start looking. Thanks in advance

Keyboards: Logitech or Corsair ones have been my favourite, but you could also build like a ducky one or something

Headsets: For a Budget Headset, Steelseries has surprised me time and time again with their quality (Arctis line Specifically). If not going budget I would recommend getting a pair of Sennheisers, something like these. As well for a standalone mic, there's this one Buster sent me which apparently is pretty good.

Monitor: Anything that's 144hz and decent quality does it for me.

On where to buy them I would say amazon or Newegg for some things as they can actually have some pretty good deals occasionally. But there's always some more budget sites to check sometimes like TigerDirect

I differ from nitro in the keyboard department.

I have had a Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition for 9 years now, and the only issue that has ever developed has been recent, which is my k kkey types multiple k's sometimes.

Headsets are a touchy subject, each vendor has their style and features, but overall, don't spend more than >50-70 buckkks unless it's wireless.

Mice, I have had a Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex for 4 years now, and it still holds up strong, Logitech make great mice both in consumer, commercial and gaming applications.

i have a deathadder rn! its fantastic and works well for me
about the blackwidow TE, my brother has one and it is incredibly loud to me. I’ve been browsing stuff by Ducky and Leopold and they seem pretty nice

Thanks for the recommendations for headsets and mics as well, I’ll definitely look into SteelSeries headsets, heard fantastic things about them.

I’ve had a good run of Logitech keyboards and mice (one of them being a trackball).

If you have the ability to and bring some hand sanitizer, going to a local computer shop and testing out the keyboards on display can help narrow it down to the feel you want. I’ve always suggested this, although difficult during covid times. But picking one that feels wrong sucks and feeling like you wasted money is never fun.

Also been very happy with a Razer DeathAdder mouse for like 7 years now.

Outside of these I don’t have much peripheral experience. But because I’ve found the feeling I like from both and nothing’s broken, I stick to it.

In terms of monitor... if you’re into gaming pretty hard, anything with the higher refresh will be nice. Pick your size and work within your budget. There’s so many options that there isn’t much of a right or wrong answer. This is also one you can sometimes walk into a store and see a bunch to find one you like the look of best.

I recommend steel series or hyperx imo, they're all good, Just make sure your comfortable with it, and If you can go to a store in person and try them out, and for monitor like I said if you can find a cheap 144hz monitor then buy that if not get 165hz, make sure it fits ur desk with enough room.

For mouse I reocmmend a wired mouse but anything can do the trick, I use a g203 but I would recommend getting something a little higher, The Glorious model O can do the trick, And for keyboard I like the g pro keyboard From logitech it's really clean. Just make sure you like the type of keys.

For mic You can buy a Blue Yeti with a Boom arm, That will set you back like 150$, You can probably grab these items of best buy. The Yeti Is really good for a user who Does online talking a lot. And the boom arm is to hold it up. Obviously you don't need a boom arm, And if you want to record or just have high quality Audio, Buy a pop filter, These can cost any where between 10-30$.

You'll find there's a big Corsair vs Razer argument here. Until you try both of them it's basically just down to preference.

It's a bit cheaper if you bundle. You can pretty much get a mouse, keyboard, mousepad, and headset all from corsair for about 100$ here.

Or you can mix and match brands on amazon but it'll be a bit more expensive.

I'm a Razer Deathadder loyalist as well. Keyboards there's a lot of variations and customizations available to suit your needs. Do you want RGB or no? Do you need programmable keys? Want volume inputs? Extra USB ports? Want Cherry Red, Brown, Blue, HyperX, Razer, etc., switches? I would suggest figure out the budget and then make a list of things you need and then want (but can live without if needed). That'll help narrow your search down.

Headsets you have a lot of leeway. Sound, microphone, durability, comfort, price all factor in your decision. If you're looking for advice/reviews on microphones/headsets, check out this youtube channel. This guy knows his stuff and has helped avoid big hype/big letdown products, as well as find the low hype/big surprise products.
