so I've seen it where many times A user spams a racist word but doesn't get banned.

like this happened 4 days ago but when I contacted the admin (They where a Eg) they said that they didn't record it.

Luckily I had my shadow play on.

but it happened before where I didn't have my shadow play on and someone got by with saying a racist remark or something else.

I feel like all eGs mostly and maybe eGos should be forced to record all if not most gameplay and if they're pc can't handle it then they should have a way of clipping audio at least.

Its getting to the point where everyone's tired of shadow playing stuff even if its the community job to help people out.

I hate seeing stuff like this happen without being able to take effect because it just fly under the radar of some admins.

this is my opinion feel free to agree or disagree, and feel free to take action in whatever way you wan.

While I see where you're coming from and understand you have good intentions, we can't force any admins to always be shadow playing. Try and remember that admins are volunteering their own time to administer the servers without pay. You can't expect everyone to have shadow play or be able to use it.

I do however understand your frustration and concerns. Admins are trying their best to provide a fun, clean environment that you guys can enjoy and sometimes it can get quite overwhelming for them when dealing with reports. They're not able to watch and administer everything at once.

Having said that we do appreciate players like you providing clips when necessary, it makes our jobs as admins a little easier :)

I understand your point, No problem.

-1, FORCING all eG's to record their gameplay is a huge no for me. There are so many reasons why this shouldn't be a thing

For things like ShadowPlay, Which yes, is handy, requires at least 8gb of RAM, maybe even 16 to be comfortable, and a recent enough nVidia GFX card. They also have to be on Windows. Not everyone uses windows. Correct me if I am wrong, there isn't a Mac or Linux version of ShadowPlay, or an AMD equivalent.

Sure there is other software, like OBS for example. which IS cross-compatible with most OS's, and AMD/Etc GFX, But all the same, you need mid-tier hardware at minimum to Replay buffer constantly.

Also for Some things in Some Divisions, LARGER clips are needed, I can't go into specifics I don't think, But this would mean in those cases; ShadowPlay and Equivalents would be utterly useless anyway.

So then we'd be talking about Recording and SAVING all footage for all gameplay. Recording is more strenuous than a Replay Buffer/ShadowPlay, as such we'd need to be seeing entry-level to high-tiered PC's.

And enforcement of this would be a nightmare. What's the consequence for not recording? Are you going to demote every eG or eGO for a single instance of where they missed something and it slips through? Who's ensuring that they are recording? People also need privacy, And enforcing this sounds like it'd breach privacy laws in lots of places without some agreement that's signed (Which, eG's don't need to sign any formal agreement).

Its getting to the point where everyone's tired of shadow playing stuff even if its the community job to help people out.
I'm a little confused by your idea of this "Community Job". Are you referencing everyone? Admins? Managers?
If it's Admin's+, 'Job' is very inaccurate; We are Volunteers, and unpaid. There isn't any compensation for the position. We simply at own volition and desire help to make this community a better place.

You DID at least say
if they're pc can't handle it
, but even IF they have a nice rig, IMHO; not anyone has any right to out-of-box enforce what programs you are or are not running; It's your machine, and while I would say a Notice/Memo At training, suggesting they use ShadowPlay or Equivalent, or some recording software running while on eGO servers is RECOMMENDED but by no means required, would not be a bad idea.

I DO understand your intentions, but you went about this from the wrong angle here. And for this specific suggestion, I think most will disagree. All the same, Thanks for the suggestion.

It doesn’t help with voice chat, but I always encouraged new admins to have their logs auto saved. Adding -condebug to launch options will auto dump console logs to a text file constantly, which helps.

Other comments above addressed the initial idea well.

30 sec clips are enough for me since by the time i realize i need to clip this ive got it recording on obs.
(i use windows game bar since im too lazy to set up anything else)

This isn't a bad idea in theory, but recording constantly wouldn't be necessary. For me I currently use Geforce Experience, So I could just easily press Alt+F10 and that would record the last 5 minutes of gameplay and whatnot and then everything would be good on that end.

THAT'S HOW YOU DO THAT???? WHY DO THEY NOT SAY IT IN GEFORCE EXPERIENCE?

I encourage all players who want to help clean up the servers to run Shadowplay/Medal/Some sort of recording software if they can. But if they can't, its fine. Nobody can be forced to do anything but running a Shadowplay type software is always a good idea IMHO

There are a few misunderstood concepts I'm seeing here. First of all I think that shadowplay/relive should be extremely encouraged (WHICH IT ALREADY IS), but not required. High quality buffer recording takes up a lot of GPU bandwidth and VRAM, so it's not very viable for clipping things every 10 seconds to prove something that may or may not have happened. For 99% of the time there is no shadowplay needed. The admin doesn't question what he heard, and he can act on that. Not to mention the 30 other CS players egging him on that also heard it, that all chant "Shadowplay or didn't happen" after every rulebreaking action. In shadowplay and relive you can set the bitrate and video very low and make the recordings up to an hour with minimal bandwidth usage. The biggest hit you're going to get is the program dumping the video on your storage media which would take some time. However, I think it is very plausible for them to make a guide explaining how to setup low bandwidth buffer recording for admins who otherwise wouldn't be using it and show how little of an impact it has.

For starters, shadowplay and relive do not use system memory, at least for the recordings themselves, the overlay does use memory itself even with shadowplay disabled. Instead they use VRAM, which lets the graphics card process and store all the footage locally and a cache folder on your storage medium, which is why shadowplay and relive are specific on your graphics card, because your graphics card does all the work. Secondly, saying what operating system everyone uses is irrelevant here. Macos supports little to no games and wine support on linux isn't nearly good enough yet to play all games. I severely doubt that would ever be an issue. Additionally the lack of recent official nvidia and amd drivers for linux should be a good example of why no one would be maining macos or linux for gaming.

Sure there is other software, like OBS for example. which IS cross-compatible with most OS's, and AMD/Etc GFX, But all the same, you need mid-tier hardware at minimum to Replay buffer constantly.

Again OBS can be set to an extremely low bitrate and quality output.

So then we'd be talking about Recording and SAVING all footage for all gameplay. Recording is more strenuous than a Replay Buffer/ShadowPlay, as such we'd need to be seeing entry-level to high-tiered PC's.

Again, no, this would never happen. All the evidence they would need would be within the last couple minutes, which is the whole point of a buffer recording. Plus, again, obs on say, 480p is only about a gigabyte an hour and MINIMAL system bandwidth. Keep in mind, these videos are for very obvious evidence, so it doesn't need to be 4k 60fps.

Now you're just blowing this out of proportion. We aren't going to be seeing GDPR lawsuits because an eG was recording someone breaking rules on our servers. The whole point of buffer recording is for them to be able to go back and confirm that something did infact happen. By having the last 5 minutes saved, they can see if they heard something out the window or someone in game. People get away with breaking the rules all the time because of a lack of evidence, that's just what happens. We aren't suddenly going to start removing admins from the community because they forgot to record billy killing the detective on accident. This should entirely be an optional thing. They should be able to trust what an admin says happened. If there's a lack of trust called into the situation, then there's an entirely different problem here.
