The new 3090 is quite insane. Brushing past the fact that it probably won't fit in anything less than an ATX full tower, the benchmarks they pulled were out of this world. From what we saw in the release video they claimed it can handle 4k 60fps ray tracing. Which is insane. My 2070 can't even do 4k 60fps without ray tracing. Is anyone thinking about upgrading :oops:
 
Thinking about buying the 3080. Currently have a 2080 but the performance for price in that card is insane.

The 1660 is more than enough for me, but I don't play anything super graphic intense. Warzone ran smoothly when I played that, and I get 350+ FPS in CSGO. If you are into more graphic intense games or want to stream/record from one GPU, I would go with something better. If you are a pretty casual player like me, the 1660 is definitely worth it. I did get it a year ago tho when prices were not so whack, so there might be something that is a better deal right now that performs similarly. It may also be worth waiting for the 30 series GPUs to come out because prices on 10 and 20 series GPUs should drop when they do.

I would present the idea that 4k60 with Ray Tracing is a great step in the right direction, but 1440p60 with Ray Tracing is way more than enough for gamers, the high price point for something only attainable for high dollar amount of hardware just for ray tracing is just too high for any gaming application. Though, MC RT 8k60 is something only the gods can deliver.

Appreciate your response. I plan to play some of the new releases on my PC so I think I'm gonna buy the 1660 Super, or I'll wait and buy a 2060 or 2070.
 
Insanely expensive for the 3090 ($1499) and pretty expensive for the 3080 ($699). But the 3070 for $499 pretty much made all RTX 2080 Ti owners cry if they bought it in the past year. Better than (or equal) 2080 Ti performance for $500? Sign me up.

Glad I waited after getting my 1080.

What does the average user/gamer need this for? I'm just curious.

I don't have anything close to that..and I can play..I would dare to say, any game on a decent setting.

What would compel me, or anyone else, to buy this graphics card? Bragging rights? Internet cred? I'd rather spend $700/$1500 on a new gun and ammunition seeing as how both are becoming scarce lately.

I wouldn't consider them priced high at all for what they are. They're priced extremely competitive compared to older hardware on the market. Besides, if you can afford a 144hz 1440p monitor, you'll have the money for a gpu to run it. Unless you just threw all your money at your monitor which is pepega
 
The 3070 was said to be fractionally better than the 2080ti for $499 I think thats the best value one!

The AOC one is 249.99 given the color accuracy is trash, and leans more towards saturated images, its a great deal
