TTT Karma Banned People

Yeah so I read this one post on the forums about a guy who was appealing due to karma ban. In the exact same day that the post was uploaded, I saw the user playing on the TTT server and he RDM'd a few people. Not to complain or anything but why is it a thing to appeal karma banned people?

Yes they don't have to appeal but the user, according to his post, said he was karma banned so he either was on a alt account or was unbanned.

EchoFX I think he is more concerned about why you should be able to appeal a karma ban in general, not about punishing this person in specific

Anyone is free to contest a ban and it is up to Leadership to determine if they will overturn the ban or not. As such, any player who is causing issues should be reported in the Ban Request subforum. The main point here is that this thread isn't a suggestion and shouldn't of been posted here.

Sometimes the ban is a wake up to people and gives leadership a chance to explain the rules properly and show them the problem in their ways.

If they continue to get ban, it's noticed, and the chances of appeals going through gets a heck of a lot lower.

Additionally, remember the karma ban system is a computer. Leadership and admins are often not there.

It exists because it's often correct, but it's not 100%.



Also, any form of governance where people can not question the decision of the leaders sucks, big time.

I wish bans can be a wake up call for people but getting a karma ban isn't much of a wake up call is it? And I can understand if the karma ban system can be not perfect sometimes but the RDM that the user did proves that he didn't really learn his lesson.

Which is when you submit a Ban Request for that individual and any other individuals with proof of their RDM. (Logs, video, etc)

Like WaSe said the karma system isn't always 100% correct, the reason you can appeal a karma ban is because it may have false banned you ex. killing inno's in t room as an inno will get you karma banned if low enough.

How can one inno kill 12 innos in T room? Even if they were killing innos over the rounds. I am pretty sure that they could get T kills in between.

Yes but he doesn't RDM 12 innos in one map

Not closequarters but he has had upwards of 10 kills on pool before they took out the T room. Not only can the karma not detect that making it a false ban. Sometimes the server will ban for karma cause the karma wouldnt update. (not sure if that is fixed)

For the karma wouldn't update part, I thought once you're finished with one map it would start updating. Also it doesn't make sense for people to senseless RDM innos for going inside T room. I am just saying that people who were actually karma banned for mass RDM, can they actually get away with that with only an appeal?

jokes aside, when i "kill 12 innos in t room" (which i never said i did , quating a fellow member here.) some of them are t's and I check my karma is not low enough for this kind of advanture.
