How much was your school lunch? What did it usually consist of?

My answer: Up until I started packing my own lunches in middle school, I qualified for free/reduced lunch so I don't have much to say about costs. But back when I ate school lunches, we were either served PB&Js or lasagna most of the time. We had Thanksgiving food every last Thursday before the corresponding break. They started doing Taco Tuesday back when I was in 5th grade, so there's that too.

My school is giving free lunches to anyone who wants one, so seeing as its a half day career school, there are a lot of kids taking advantage of that. Why bother going to the DQ or Chipotle when you can get a drink, a nice warm meal (and i mean a meal, these things are bonkers) and a snack for free?? They even bring it to the classroom for you! Absolute pogchamp

i mean i dont stick around for lunch because i have early release for work, but before covid they were normally 2.50 for a small amount of normal food and fruits and vegetables were free. add ons like cookies and chip were always a little extra, but some mom tried to sue the school for malnutrition claims and almost won so im pretty sure they changed there lunch servings

well were not doing lunch rn but last year we had a good mix of stuff. there was always the sandwhich bar and then mac and cheese. we had 3 different pizza types which would vary a lot. on one side there was usually things like buffalo wings, general tsos chicken, chicken parm, ravioli, and then on the other side there was a weekly thing that switched all the time, usually something fun. We always had a waffle maker we could use, different soups, some salads, cereals, muffins and then we had alot of different snacks like pretzles or churros etc.

haha yes. last year it was awesome, we had a sandwich bar, pizza station, a hot bar where the dishes would change every day, a side station, and a soup station. although since it was all self-service, it isn't very COVID friendly. Now they give us bags with either fairly okay lunch or just mediocre lunch. now they just give us bags with different lunches as to avoid coming into contact with a shared station. today I asked for a sandwich and they gave me a salad. I told them, "hey I asked for a sandwich". they took the bag and handed me another one.

it was another fucking salad.

was usually either pizza or some very undercooked chicken through most of highschool. the frenchfries were always amazing

when i was in highschool i swear i ate a warm pretzel w/ cheese, diet coke, and maybe a milky way. now i don't eat lunch

My elementary school didn’t have lunches provided in any way. Pack or nothing. High school we had a cafeteria that wasn’t bad but the offerings were few. Good cookies though.

Pretty consistently brought a muffin for a snack, ham and cheese sandwich for lunch (had a good bakery near me for good fresh buns). Chocolate milk was a must. Usually an apple too.

I usually skip lunch and go outside or go on my phone, also our school doesn't have a snack/lunch bar or place to buy from
