You can't even keep track of how many people are in =(eGo)= which is pretty crazy! People from different games like GTA / Minecraft etc.. and that's pretty cool! I come from the CS JB Community, what about you guys? I would love to hear from each different community! :) Oh and let me introduce myself, im The Esport Alien, and why that name? It's because i thought it was unique and cool but i just noticed now it isn't that cool of a name but i have to stick with it haha. Anyways, back to the question, what community's do you all come from? feel free to share your story of your name aswell! Anyways Cheers!

My community history is as follows:
  1. 2014-2016 The Cube Charity (RIP 2011-2016)
    1. First community I ever joined, met cool people like Makaveli, InsaneMemez, RedRonin, and I guess Luffy Luffy (ayyy DaCanadianPenguin)
    2. I left the community in May 2014, when the developer left after disagreements to start his own community and a bunch of people such as myself tagged along, only to return in December when he gave up.
    3. I was known as Dark Lord Saumon because I wanted to poke fun at a speech impediment I struggled with at the time (not pog).
    4. I played on their GMOD JB, TTT, DarkRP, and ZS servers for the most part, though I did hop onto their other servers (namely TF2).
    5. I became a moderator then resigned when the community started going down for "maintenance" over and over again (in reality, the owner just got tired of running the community).
  2. 2016-2017 Server hopper
    1. Most toxic of my days, name changed to satellite.
    2. Hated literally every other community and got myself permanently banned on most DarkRP servers through Mass RDM and VDM (because, if Zuthar did it, it was cool).
  3. 2017-2018 Lifepunch (RIP 2011-2019, 2020)
    1. Found the players to be actually chill so I kinda stopped breaking rules en masse.
    2. Unfortunately, the community started dying and by then I was burnt out on GMOD.
  4. 2018-present EdgeGamers
    1. Found community through CS TTT, changed my name to Maruchan.
    2. Recruited into community by @Yippi
    3. Spent a year tagging along in MS events and found some real ones here.
      1. With them, I created my most infamous garbagepost known to forum history.
    4. Eventually joined the resurging GMOD division to assist them, which is where I am today.
Stay tuned for GMOD events, coming soon :)

A lot of people come and go, change games they like to focus on, it's wild.

I actually started in 2010 in the Insurgency division (Not the standalone game, the original mod). Played lots of COD4, TF2, some CSS. I had an impromptu exit late in the year because i was a teenage ding dong so spent a little time away from eGO.

Came back a bit later to play more TF2. Then we had expanded in Planetside 2 which was AWESOME. That game kicked ass, seriously.

Couple years down the line I started to get more active and social again, played a ton of Day of Defeat Source. Eventually went on to be leadership for TF2 for a bit. Took a break, came back and did leadership for DOD:S too. I was also the Senior Manager for Member Services in there.

Now I just lurk and post about anime, occasionally hit up some TF2 every few months.

Planetside 2 is awesome and still functional ! I loved the unit work with Terran republic

2014-2016 The cube - was my first gaming community

2016-2018 Joined pG mostly played Jailbreak/occasionally playing surf (under different aliases)

2018-2020 came over with the merge but didn't make a forum account till June of 2018, didn't become a member till 2019 where I was recruited by Banned user, I then made some amazing people from the member cozy lounge on teamspeak where then they invited me to their DS channel and became Great Friends with them and I'm really grateful for them and i'm glad i met them as they are amazing and nice friends!

My second ever community I've joined!

First one was [REDACTED] and it was a pretty toxic community so I left.

March-May 2018:
I played on HG during this time, mostly playing TTT after I heard that you didn't need to own Gmod to play it, and that there were community servers. I enjoyed my time for the most part, but I didn't join because I didn't understand how communities worked for the most part. After having a bad experience with the admins over there, I decided to look for another server

May-December 2018:
Started playing on the PG servers the week before the merge. It was ironic, to say the least. Liked the servers a lot better and figured out how to navigate the Community Server Menu so I could constantly play on the same server. After playing on our TTT server for a while, I decided to try out JB. I can vividly remember my first round of the game where I was told to go to a blue marker and I rebelled and got shot instantly. After sticking with JB for a while, one day I met this dude with a really deep voice named Saiko and eventually got recruited into eGO by him (worst mistake you ever made Damon). After playing on the servers for a while, I was getting persuaded by the lobby to throw a nade into the stack, 13-year-old nitro did it, and got himself a 2-week ban. Not even a month after coming, I did it again. And as admins had warned me not to do it beforehand, I got perma'd. Never contested

May-July 2019:
#kev4admin

August-December 2019:
This is when I first started getting involved in the community, meeting people in Teamspeak and at events, and just having an overall good time. During October, I realized how the promotions were decided in the community after asking on Teamspeak so I started trying to follow the rules and lead by example and yada yada all that. As you can see, it failed lmao. But I did learn a lot during this time, meeting more people and also joining the discord, frequenting the forums more than usual. Also received my last punishment in eGO to date during this period.

Feburary 2020-Present:
Made an introduction post on the forums, started going to MS events, met a couple of people, went to TF2 Karaoke Night (My first big event with the community), and met the people who I hang out today there. Joined Media, Joined clowns, became a simp (apparently), and started playing FIveM. Everything since then has been a blur for the most part. I enjoyed the days I had. Sadly (Or not so much for some people) I think my time here is coming to an end, everything was fun while it lasted but I think I'm starting to move on from everything. After so much time, I think you just start to lose motivation and drive, which is what I think is happening now.

I don't know what will happen in the future, but I will never forget my time here.

Story time:
Jun 2013 I joined EdgeGamers, my former friend from college was Fullmetal and was Advisor/Manager for Team Fortress 2 at the time and I believe we were on a bus going to Otakon (Anime convention) when I joined, he had mentioned eGO before and never really looked into it till then, I didn't have a PC either just the laptop out school had given to us and still used it was an IBM/Lenovo T60. Eventually I did buy my first gaming laptop and later a PC and I got more involved. My first division was Operation X and I remember picking that because it was the only one not asking me for a Steam ID haha. I think 2 weeks later I did figure that all out and switched to TF2. I met some cool people there who I still keep in touch with irl and have even met up with.

Then I jumped to Day Of Defeat, got to meet Megs, Simon, Annihilator, Q-Tip to name a few. I stuck around for a bit and tried to help with server filling but wasn't too interested in the realism stuff and my server Anzio went away so I jumped back to TF2 with my G, stuck around for a bit then jumped to Counter Strike where I met Michael Bolton, NMsniper, Drew to name a few and I was like a server captain for Office 24/7 (I think Basically it was like server filling) I think at somepoint around here I joined the Pokemon Service Center...I mean Personnel Service Center...no wait..Microsoft Services? I forget what MS is for...oh!MEMBER Services! Thats the one! Lol I used to help with invasion events where we'd go around the the different divisions and host events. We also really cared about Penguins...Maybe it was Penguin Service Center.

After that I jumped to Gmod with my friends Magus and Bolton and I remember it was to help the division since it was new, it was kinda funny me being there because I rarely actually played Gmod, but that was the cool thing about that division, you didn't need to play the game and it was more like a super chill social group of friends so I stuck around for a bit, plus the events! I loved prophunt and melonbomer. There's way too many people to name but _Ace, Boomanboom, Icydud, Recreant, Blew, Sparky, Toad, Becka, Architect, goje I guess even lol I miss the days I'd just log in and chat it up with them all. We had someone that was studying to be a doctor and was an advisor I forgot his name lol and then I wasn't close with the late ProCombat but he was around during my time I think he was the Division Leader at the time and Id never forget how hyper he'd be, would just join the room tell us about his motorcycle riding day before he'd drag people out to another channel lol he was super hyper and always had some cool story or another but Id only hear clips of it before he'd run off again lol that guy, r.i.p man he did do a lot and definitely deserve the honors given to him here in eGO.

Eventually I did go back to Team Fortress 2 and got involved with events, became advisor/manager, I had gone back to school at the time and wasn't working then I retired around the time I started working again lol un retired. Something about that game kept me coming back...maybe it was the hats? Lol

After I left for a bit I did join Reflex-Gamers, Made in Texas, Prestige Gaming, FiredPower Gaming. I was an admin at RXG for a bit and got to meet some of the former eGO members there much like PG, it was one of the branch off communities. I think I decided on RXG because of the servers at the time. My favorite memory has to be coming back for Blackmesa with my friends from there Roker and Fancy and a few others eventually we did have a cross community event in eGO and I remember Adam, Pzycho, and Fancy being heavily involved in that happening. I still have basic admin in rxg but I havent been active since...2017...18 (geez it's been awhile) it was a mix of me being busy and just people moving on as well. Fancy is still around lol we were supposed to meet up in nyc last year but he wasn't around town too long.

My home division is and will always be TF2 I got to make friends like Pzycho, PeperRabbit, Adam, Frosty, Panda (not express), Explonaut, Clavietica, Puliping, Angoron, the other Psycho aka JPM, Dino and a few others, many are gone though. Simon kinda still sticks around lol. After we all kinda moved on to other things I did come back after the PG merger and now I have desserts and a hotdog and a Jeff (not edible) also im convinced all those numbers are the calories of said food items running the place lmaoo I love them all though haha. Hotdogs gets my memes and I'd send fox stuff when I see it to Pastry. Dark..I'm sorry I keep destroying your sentries lol. I'm going to try to make more of an effort to be around more, just please bare with me and my phone/xbox controller setup haha. If you do see @Explonaut around...omg be ready for puns and jokes, by far him and his wife were the best to work with here when I was Advisor/Manager. This time of the year he would be asking me if he could do these elaborate halloween theme set of events.

After all the division hopping I think the only older divisions I haven't been in are Battlefield and Minecraft, GTA is one of the newer ones so not counting that one.

I guess the take away here is get to know as many people as you can, don't get upset about the small things as those people might not be around the next day, try new things and you don't necessarily need to leave, you can always take a break if things irl are keeping you from being here. The friendships you make here do have potential to become irl friends. I love this place for that opportunity. If one thing I wish for always was less locked doors (channels) and more people in like a general voice channels. we didn't have DS rooms back in my day. You miss out on meeting people that way, Yea i get there's a random spammer that will jump in but a small price to pay to build new friends. Remember I mentioned the very social Gmod experience I had? That's what I kinda want for anyone that joins us. I think CS and MC also are like old Gmod. I kinda tried to be more on TS or even game chat but...ugh Android and TS don't get along and why I almost always prefer Discord. Lol I promise I'm not trying to be antisocial haha. See you guys around in the games and discord

I came from JB and what started my liking to this community was two admins remembered who i was ( Belt Belt @Bowl of Water ) and idk i just said **** it, i joined the community about 1 month later. I then started playing TTT and my boys Chaonyx Chaonyx @ScaryLarry and Buster Buster invited me to TS so after that i just said **** it again and put all my time into eGO. After so long of playing on cs tho im looking into different divisions, so far ive only joined the minecraft server and built a nice little cabin on a hill.

So my journey begins in January 2019. I joined the JB server and played on it for about a month. I then left without knowing I just played on EGO. I come back in June the same year because I wanted to experience community servers, so I played on that for about two months. Later on, @Spare introduces me to EGO. I didn't know what an e tag was or whatever, but we both got our e-tags near the same time. I played as a member from August to December. I met many people along the way such as the OG cachinga with Augustoo, @Erk, @Zacc, Bart, Shrivan, Sagi, GodTony, Tak, etc. We eventually fell apart, but then Spare invited me to Clowns. It was a new discord for his friend group. That was where I developed the most. I met @Tlalog, purducken, @Twist, Mango, Wagon, @kuantum, nitro nitro , @Belakk akk, Krabs, Loser, Hermi, Peter, Absurd, trip, the rest of GOAT Gang, Trinity, Skittles, mark, the kz guys, and other people from JB. Eventually we received more recruits like @santa, @Left, @Bowl of Water, @Tank, @I cant carry & DeerFat DeerFat (met him through EC), and later on @Klundy, @alienn, @Semo, @nomyo. We were at our prime during March/April. We would play popflash's, Minecraft, and other games together. After that, the discord declined as people started to separate from each other. I then found the TS people like heidi heidi , Damon Damon , Maruchan Maruchan , Luffy Luffy , @aspen, Buster Buster , @Filipe, @Architect of Life @Gabe, @ScaryLarry, and all the others. That's basically what happened in my EGO experience. I met people through JB and now I am at my position.

Under the name CHERRY BOMB I found pG's surf server and made friends. 2016 in November I joined pG. I got admin then soon after and then dedicated my time into making surf a less toxic community. I wanted to protect myself and others from being harassed. Then we merged into eGO where I lost activity at first, and was no longer admin. I then as an =(e)= member became more active after some time had passed. I learned to really enjoy the new opportunities eGO gave and worked my way up to here.

That's the short version, but I haven't joined any other communities besides pG to eGO.

My story started in the end of 2019, don't know exactly when though. I first played TTT, for those who think I'm bad now, don't worry, I was worse. I remember way back when I first started arguing with @Kagato . I also remember when I started to be active in teamspeak a young gamer called @ScaryLarry started playing TTT. I slowly got all my friends on ts such as Chaonyx Chaonyx @Pepper @Parzival and @Shogun who was ghoul at the time. In the first wave of friends wed just sit in TS playing TTT mocking JB of course. When that friend group started to fade me and scary started to play with @Shayne eventually brining us into heidi heidi and Damon Damon no matter how much they may hate me I still have fun playing with them to this day. I even got to play JB with @Erk and @Semo.

Of course I could not forget my short lived but still fun "being toxic to emergency services" phase on the gta server. For this time I'd like to thank @b t for putting up with me, nitro nitro , though he may be gone now, for trying to teach me to the best of his ability the rules of FiveM.

I know this is random but to all (I mean all) the people I play with currently (@Erk @Semo @DDZ ZioNeX @SuperNova2501 @bakr heidi heidi carter227 carter227 @platypushunter Damon Damon Belt Belt heidi heidi @Bowl of Water @kuantum @Architect of Life Luffy Luffy Maruchan Maruchan ) thank you for making it easy to get on every day.

First CS community I joined was called GiClan. It was toxic as hell at times and the higher ups only ever cared about the money they were making, but it's thanks to that community that I met and became friends with a lot of pretty cool people, one of them being @santa

After I left GiClan, I randomly came across pG's Jailbreak server in late 2016 and was hooked instantly. Spent a few months no lifing the JB server and became a recruit under the name Saiko. Was promoted to Junior and later promoted to Member right before the merge with eGO happened. Ended up changing my name to Damon at some point and have been here ever since

Started playing CS in 2016 and in November of 2016 I joined a community server. That server was pG. I've played here ever since with a little bit of some breaks.

Ever since I found out about CSGO and there community servers back in 2016-2018 id usually play on all the 24/7 surf severs since those were pretty popular back then. Met a lot of good friends on those servers and had a pretty good time. I remember having a faint memory of playing on a pG server for a few days. Then one day I met a individual know as Lobster Dog who introduced me to edgegamers. Would usually play on Minigames and would talk to him and quite a few others and then I decided to join by late December with the alias Your Future Darling (its a yikes I know). I've met a lot of people in this community such as ghost ghost Damon Damon heidi heidi @EDisch222 etc (you know who you are). And I've got to say being here for the past 2 years has been some of the best years that has happened to me.

I started out on April fools day and played Jailbreak for like 20 hours straight (sleep is overrated). I got recruited by @Vane soon after and joined eGO. I didn't really do much in the community until late May when i joined the Minecraft server and played non-stop for a month or 2, got bored and went back to JB and started showing up at some events. And now I grind JB and occasionally show up on Destiny 2.

i guess I’ll share :)
i was in a discord with a friend i met in a comp and his friends in may of 2018. it was around 2am and they invited me to this community server. didn’t even know these existed. this was the minigames server and it was on the map ipods all in one. great map btw. i went to bed and forgot about the server until august of 2018. i joined back and met some pretty cool people at the time like lobster dog and f12sam. i continued playing the servers and got my e late august. I’m pretty sure i was on a surf server with lobster dog when i met pretty boy pretty boy i remember him asking why i don’t talk a lot. later, i continued to play minigames and met new friends like alasdair and turk and i later saw darling on who then became apart of that group. eventually, turk and alas stopped playing. i continued playing and made some good friends at the time like Damon Damon and heidi heidi who were very helpful and supportive of me. i really looked up to them. wanted to be like heidi. got my G on new years and later ended up taking a break. came back around october of last year and i learned of the ec team and started attending events. i applied for it and got accepted which was one of the best things to happen (thanks @peloc) . met some great people through it like @Michael Bolton @teimyw8 @I cant carry and more people. now i kinda just chill on minigames. no big friend group anymore but that’s okay. love ec and that’s really waht keeps me going through it all
