The Counter-Strike forum section is a bit overloaded with events, I believe that ego should create a sticky thread and lock it, and only update it with a weekly event schedule or something along those lines so it is a bit more organized and gives normal threads room to breathe.

More than half of the topics are event threads. I'm welcoming any other opinions or approaches to fixing this issue, but I believe it is a problem. Event threads could be created near the start time to gain attention and then deleted once the event ends.

The whole reason we post, the event threads is so people can see them before the event. Not everyone is on the forums every day so we post it a few days in advance so they can see x event is being hosted in x time by x person.

Which is why I say that you continue to do so, in the same thread rather than over half of the posts in a discussion being for events. You will still have a place to see x event being hosted in x time by x person, except it will be more organized.

i did around a week ago suggest an events sub forum so theyre all in one place which got denied as they said they will work on allowing us to post events in both CS forums and in breaking news though i totally agree it would be nice to have it all in one spot for it to be more organized and easier to find.

and in breaking news
I feel like that would clutter the breaking news section, which might bury important threads that shouldn't be. I personally like the idea of a new section for events. Putting it under the Important Information section would be beneficial as it should get the same exposure as being in the breaking news, without cluttering it.

I do agree but it was said they wanted to add a homepage again and allow for events to be shown on the homepage but I dont think having a seperate subforum for all game divison events would be nice so you can stay updated on all types of events

So my understanding is that they intend to find a new home for events outside of the game specific forums or within a specific thread as is. If this is currently your plan, you can consider this resolved unless anyone wants to further discuss this.

not really home as a variety of different imporant posts are made in breaking news not specifically obtaining to events but still a place. so they would be posted in both the CS forums and the breaknews forums

+1 on the event calendar.

I don't see much of an issue with the events posted directly into Counter Strike's subforum but that's just me. I don't like the idea of putting the events into one thread though. Having individual threads makes it easier to see the bigger picture, as a whole for all the events going on. Having them all in one thread would only contribute to more clutter and making it harder to see, at a glance, what's going on.

+1 On adding something that makes it easier to see which events are on.
Sometimes, I have to go the second or third page on the Counter Strike Sub forum to even see the events that are 2 weeks ahead of that.

I agree, and that is part of the problem created by individual event posts. When you combine that with the already fast thread creation, you end up having events that happen tomorrow on the second page and I'd be willing to bet it effects attendance because if I knew when the events were I'd be at one everyday.

we could work on posting our threads from 2-3 days before the event which may help. The only reason I post mine long before is because i like to get everything (planning etc) done in one session. so when i schedule the event, i wanna have it set up in the steam group, calander we use and on the forums just to get everything out of the way.
We do often try to bump the post around 20-30 minutes before the event to remind people though since we do realize the post is a little old

I can certainly sympathize for that, especially considering I work in the same way (get all done at once.) From personal experience, I would recommend bumping it like the morning of the event day to give everyone time to see it because I have missed tons of events simply because I didn't know they were today. I certainly think your solution would be quite helpful, but you could do all of your planning etc & post it on a thread designated for events (weekly event schedules stickied) well before the event and then also make the individual thread 2-3 days before and then update it the day of. I think this could solve this problem 100% and make your events even more popular.

Also, the way people left that demolition was sad. That was my first event, are they usually like that? Thanks for the reply.

i totally agree that having a separate event thread for all events would be helpful but once the new forum website gets updated, events will show up on the homepage and also I’m pretty sure we’ll be getting a calendar again for an overview of the months events. another easy way to find out about events is the CS steam group. most of the time (if some of us smh don’t forget) we input the events into the group when we plan it and if you click on the group on the right side is a list of all the upcoming events. also provides announcements.
regarding people leaving the event, it really depends on what the event is. some events are more popular than others or some people can attend and others can’t. but demolition is an official game mode which of course people can play by theirselves it’s not amazingly popular which is why people kinda got bored. personally, i love demolition so i love hosting it which is why i do but i do understand it’s not as popular and won’t get as much attention.
regarding bumping the threads;
I’ll definitely bring it up to all the ecs and work on it myself that the day of or the day before we should try bumping the thread so more people can get involved with the events which we’d love. thank you for all these suggestions and stuff it’s always nice to hear how we can please people and up our event attendance !!

-1. Megathreads are terrible for engagement and lower visibility. I believe that forcing all events to post exclusively in a megathread would only drive participants down.

3 things

1. CS events, along with MS, TF2, Warships, and D2 events all used to be posted in breaking news on the old forums. However with the current way breaking news looks, yeah, it would get really cluttered. So until a new homepage is made there's no sense in doing that

2. I'm nearly positive tech is working on a calendar for the forums, because (again), we had one on Vbulletin, which was quite useful if I may add.

3. I agree with AdurpAdurp AdurpAdurp in the opinion that Megathreads aren't very useful and will drive down engagement considering how cluttered it would be. [Especially for divisions that don't host a lot of events] I think the best solution (for now) is for individuals who are interested in attending more events is to join the Discord and just add the role for the game you play the most, considering events are announced there will give a notification and are a lot easier to find.

I would like to point out that I did not say exclusively.
