/sleep for ds

Could you clarify a Lil further what /sleep does? Does it just plop you into sleep where ur standing? Tell you who is sleeping? TP to bed? Spawn an ender dragon? Context would help

These seems like a very unnecessary add-on, /afk is already on the server and i’m sure tech doesn’t want to add another thing to the list of stuff the server needs. -1 from me

Yeah I'm a bit unsure what /sleep would do, we have extra homes for DS, so one of those homes is probably close to a bed (/home bed, /back takes like 3 secs)

i was gonna go with it just plops you on the floor where you stand and you sleep but i kinda like what kuantum put, it makes you count as sleeping even though you arent

This would literally be tacked onto the existing DS plugin, So it wouldn't be difficult. The excuse of it'd be adding to tech's plate/tech is too busy is honestly a pretty terrible excuse.... All due respect THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS SUBFORUM. Nobody is saying it has to be done now or has to be on their list now... I don't mean to slam a valid opinion, but I see this way too much on this forum as an excuse not to change something. Sometimes keeping the status-quo is good; but using that as an excuse to argue a status-quo is a poor arguement.

In that case, as Garret said, DS's have extra homes, so I see this as mundane, as you could just tp back real quick, sleep, and pop a /back to go back. a specific /sleep command just doesn't make sense in that context other than a Quality of Liife.

Nice idea but I think it's implementation would ignore the need of non DS members on whether they would like to sleep or not. I would much rather have tech fix issues (20kx20k map like previously announced before launch, RTP in Mineword, fixed, Mine end added, Auctions up and running) we already have before adding new features.

Lemme rephrase. /sleep is essentially lazy, everyone has a lot of set home, and they're gonna have a /home at their homes, so throw a bed next to your /home if you believe finding a bed is a stressful activity.

Also, a reason some people don't sleep is that they need the night, I know I've needed night for the last couple of days and if everyone could easily just /sleep, there would never be night again.

I agree the excuse shouldn't be solely "tech has too much to do", however, when determining a suggestion's compatibility with the server a major aspect of the decision is how feasible it is. Is it worth me coding us a plugin to do this, or is my time better spent working on future gamemodes and other projects.

In this case, with the ability to use homes and instant teleport, this suggestion probably isn't the most feasible unless large bit of the playerbase finds no other replacement.

Thanks for clarifying. I get more what you were trying to convey and I agree too.

Also Garret, I 100000% agree. As you probably picked up I meant more people using it as a blanket excuse to down vote something. Which you also stated. There of course is an equation of work towards goal. If the goal is blatantly not worth the work, obviously it doesn't belong on the plate. It's too often though the scapegoat.

I will bring this up, though DS can do /ptime day. I will look into a more permanent solution and update this thread when we come to a conclusion, thanks for the suggestion!
