I upgraded from my 1060 to a 2060 6gb it's paired with my i7 7700. I wanna know what CPU I should upgrade too nothing really expensive though. I think my CPU is restricting my GPUs full potential. I might be wrong but I don't really know.

I don't think it's a big deal since most games use GPU more intensively, if you are looking to upgrade, would recommend the Ryzen 5 3600, should be more than enough power that bad boy

If you can't even name the website, sounds like quite the unreliable source.

A better question may be - what games are you playing that you feel are bottlenecked right now? That CPU is still quite good and with that card, would do pretty well with a lot of games. What games are giving you issues?

Keep in mind that to upgrade, you'll be into a new motherboard as well. Possibly RAM (although likely re-usable). This won't be just a drop a CPU in and run type thing.

In squad I get literally 40-50 FPS on lowest of settings, and then highest I get like 40 which is just weird to me. Even in the Tf2 event LE vs All it was pretty choppy as well which was a surprise.

TF2 requires an optimization config in general, and at this point a new cpu could only be a good thing, youll 100% get higher fps as the 3600 will do better, and a little bit of head room for games. BUT!! if you could wait like 2 months or so you may be able to buy a 5600 for a little bit more.

Yeah, I’d say you you really care about core speed a 3600 could be manually overclocked and undervolted with a relatively cheap cpu cooler
