Security Code Requirement

Description of the bug.
Every time I open Firefox and navigate to www.edgegamers.com it requests a two-step verification code. I check the box to have it remember my device for 30 days, get the code, and proceed. If I close the web browser and open it back up later, it requests the two-step verification again, even though I had requested it remember my device. Often times, the code never makes it to my inbox or it takes over 5 minutes or even 15 minutes. If it takes too long, I will close my web browser and restart the process to get the email code. I checked my Firefox settings, and it is not set to clear cookies when I close the web browser. Any suggestions?

What should be happening instead?
The two-step verification code request should only be happening once every 30 days, and according to the Forums, I am required to have the two-step verification enabled.

Describe how to replicate the bug.
I close out of Firefox, and then re-open Firefox. I go to www.edgegamers.com and it immediately requests the verification code.

Extra info? Not sure what else to tell you; it sounds like it is just me. Please let me know what else I can check. Thank you.

I’m not having any issues on 2 instances of Firefox and one of Firefox mobile on iOS. I’m authenticating with Google’s auth app. Hopefully someone else can replicate it.

I can't say I've had this issue before either, make sure you don't have an app cleaning out your browser everytime you close it. This has caused issues for me in the past.

I also use Firefox with pretty strict settings but I allow cookies and do not have a problem. I would recommend maybe refreshing Firefox or maybe checking your extensions? It could also be a bad cookie so you could maybe try just cleaning out all EdgeGamers cookies and site data and seeing if that works.

The 5 to 15 minutes for an email response seems a little long but not unreasonable as email isn't always the best for verificiation codes. I would recommend setting up 2FA on a phone app or something easier.

ive had the same issue also after ive jumped through all the hoops and voted i dont get my vote keys.
i think the 2 part verification is seriosly flawed.
i do the voting in the morning with my coffee if it stays being too much trouble i will stop.
i dont think we want to make it harder for members to stay.

holy christ yes this has been happening to me too. i personally think the 2fa stuff is annoying but the fact that I have to wait another 20 mins to get the verification code in my inbox makes the process a whole lot worse.

Switch to using the Google Auth app on your phone, if emails / texts are an issue.

or people can use the app called Authy it actually helps alot cause with the google authenticator its confusing but with authy it organizes all of the 2-steps in small boxes and once you click on it you get the code.

It’s not even remotely confusing but sure. You open the app and the code is in front of your face. Not really sure if we're talking about the same thing here.

I've also been having this problem. Every time I try to sign into eGO it makes me put in a 2FA code. I check the forums like twice a day and have to do this every time. Scaaaaaaam

Your PC/Browser settings are causing the site to not remember your information, usually via security settings.
