Hey guys I own the website so I just want to clarify some things here
The site is very early stages so I can understand why some people might think it looks sketchy. Also I understand why you would be hesitant to login to a third-party website. However, that is exactly why I chose to use Discord login instead of Steam login so that you don't have to worry that it is some type of phishing website.
We'll never sell your data and right now do not have any advertisers or sponsors. In the future we will likely have advertisers and sponsors since that is how freemium based websites make money. The alternative would be to charge people to use the website which we might do for more advanced features, but that is not planned right now and I'd like to keep everything free. So getting advertisements is a trade-off for free services, that is just how the internet works these days.
> they are actually "buying" twitter followers and their website traffic, pretending it's for the giveaway.
You are basically correct but we aren't pretending anything, that is just how 99% of giveaways work. They are a form of marketing.
I'm creating skins.ai to be a genuinely valuable service to people that you can use for free. Marketing is how you grow a service like this. I like the idea of doing giveaways versus running ads because it allows me to give directly to the community instead of just giving the ad companies the money.
If you don't want to join the giveaway that is totally fine! But please don't act like I'm doing anything scammy or ridiculous when this is actually very standard.
