I really need to visit these forums more often. LOL
Back in those days, TF2 was known for threatening to ban at the drop of a hat. We weren't serious about it, more of an inside joke. Other divisions didn't quite understand so we had a bit of a reputation. I remember one announcement, I think it was a recruiting drive, there was a "click here for more details/sign up" link of course. There was also a "click here to opt out of future announcements cuz I don't like recruiting" link...that took you to the ban contest forums.
