Battlefield 1 Question about Vehicles from a Battlefield Noob

This may seem completely trivial to all of you I'm sure but this is the first Battlefield game I've ever played so am completely lost about it. And have thus stayed away from them in the two days I've played.
So how exactly do vehicles and planes work? From what I gather each map has a fixed number of those available which you can spawn in from the overview screen if you're fast enough apparently.
So are those fixed or does it depend on what vehicle you have unlocked and equipped in your loadout? So meaning I would spawn in a different plane than a different player depending on who clicked it first? Also are bombers also a type of plane or they just default on airplane maps?
The tanks also become available at the base periodically I guess but what about the vehicles you can call in from the reinforcement screen do they appear at the base/overview screen as well?
Sorry if I'm asking about obvious things but I honestly had no idea where to look up these things to get familiar with them. I'm looking forward to being a part of the Battlefield community and loving the game so far! Thank you for any help and info!

HI Justin,
First off, welcome to Battlefield!

Vehicles are given to you at their spawn points, but there is no "default" vehicle. They are selected based on what you last used (or have unlocked and used) for each particular side (Axis, Allies, Japan, etc...).
You can single click select the vehicle and then choose a different one based on what you have unlocked. However, as you pointed out, vehicles go quick in this game. You need to be very fast.

Most vehicles have a 90 second spawn time.
