New laptop

okay i so got a job that pays well enough than i can buy a laptop

some of the ones ive been looking at:
Dell Inspiron 1720 (17inch big i know) - 1250$
-- 2.4ghz C2D
-- 3gb ddr2
-- 250gb sata 5400rpm
-- 8600m gt
-- 17inch 1440x900 res screen
-- dvd/cd +rw -rw (everything)
-- Jet Black
-- Vista Home Pre

Acer Aspire 5920 G - ~1250$
-- 2.0ghz C2D
-- 2gb ddr2
-- 200gb sata 4200rpm
-- everything dvd/cd drive
-- 15inch 1280x800 res screen
-- 8600m gt
-- Vista Home Pre

Cyberpower PC Xplorer X5-7900 - 1134$ (might buy this one)
CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Mobile T8300 Dual-Core Processor @ 2.40GHz 800FSB 3MB L2 Cache 64-bit
MOTHERBOARD: Intel PM965 + ICH-8M Chipset Mainboard

If any can recommend a better laptop for same or less, i thank you (dont flame dell or acer or w/e companies, i want advice, not "dont buy dell cause they suck" and no they dont (for laptops)), no compaq (i will say they suck) and i really would like trusted brands :)

14 - eh it has to be 1337
15.4 inch -good
17inch -ok, but 15 preferred

and one more thing if you find a better laptop than those two thats also with in like the same rating as those for less I will send half the difference between that laptop (if i buy it) and the ones i have listed to eGO
--eg. you recommend the laptop X9999 thats 1000$ and is the same or better, and i buy it, so 250$ less than those 2 i have listed then
ill send 125$ to eGO in like 25$ amounts so my parents dont see im sending 125$ off (they're weird), though even if theres no difference ill still send eGO 20$

also i wont be able to buy it til end of July when i get paid
Please do extensive research, aka use notebookcheck.net (great laptop site)

I've never purchased anything from Acer other than my 22" monitor, so I'm wondering what their support is like? I'm not talking about phone support necessarily since that's equally bad for any computer manufacturer these days, but about their online support. One of the things I still like about Dell is their support site. It's relatively easy to find drivers and manuals online for your computer. So, unless Acer's site is just as good, that would be one reservation I would have about purchasing an Acer computer.
 
yeah arnot thats exactly what im looking for, so unless i find something better than that, im prob gonna buy that laptop thus the difference of ~130$ means i will send 65 to eGO
 
yeah it is a really good laptop, and also upgradable :D i would buy it, if i had the money lol
 
well im earning 350$ a week before taxes picking up trash, but the job lasts 6 weeks so thats 2100 then after taxes about 1600 or so
 
yeah thats nice... if you need help once you have the money if you want to upgrade a bit, ill be happy to help there too

k, ill keep that in mind. i upgraded my friends old inspiron 1100 with a new hdd, that thing was amazingly easy plus the fact that dell showd you how to completely take the laptop and put it back together. that changed my out look on dell
 
The first laptop you posted up there seems the best to me. The 2nd one is the same price as the first, and seems worse than the first. The 3rd one you posted seems pretty good.

Its either the 1st or the 3rd......I would go with the first after looking at it again, it has better specs, for a little more price.
