from many years living with american roommates, I have learned that they smoked weeds a lot(legal in Oregon) and they were friendlier and less hostile to me compared to Japanese ones. I less talked to them but I helped a guy to move his TV from his room to his car well that state has 90% white people so that would be funnier to go outside and one homeless dude came to me: "konichiwa" even i am Vietnamese hahaha, one good night on the bus with my friend chatting in Vietnamese, a dude who sat in front of us(could be Hispanic or indian) suddenly yelled at us " ask us to speak English cuz this is America blah blah" ( a sign of racist) we were scared and did not know what to do, the bus driver heard it and asked that passenger to leave the bus immediately..and people on the bus told us: don't worry it's rare to have a racist here. I made friends with lots of Americans and international students, oh memories and memories..later guys
