i want to play pokemon again, what games do you guys recommend? don't have a switch so im just going to play DS/ 3ds games

black and white is good stay away from the non main stream ones like lets go pikachu etc.

If you have a 3ds the Virtual Console has GSC which are great for old and new players. Its a great throwback. In addition if you own a console for it the gen 4 games are a great place to pick it back up. Grab a staraptor and have fun!

For the switch i highly suggest a returning player try Lets Go!, its honestly super easy but was really fun(Currently playing it with my girlfriend @Wish )

I recommended pokemon omega ruby game because I think this is one of the best 3ds games.

Play through Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness on a Gamecube emulator. One of my favourite Pokémon games of all time.

If you just want a mainline game, You can never go wrong with Emerald or Platinum.

If you want to sleep while playing because the games level curve is so boring, play Gold/Silver - Heartgold/Soulsilver.

If you like games like Dr. Mario for the N64 or Tetris, pick up Pokémon Puzzle League on an N64 emulator, another one of my favourites.

I may be biased if you look at my profile picture, but Heartgold is hands down my favorite game. Has a lot of content to it, especially for an older game. After you defeat the elite four there is a whole other half to the game you unlock. There are a crap ton of legendaries to collect, Sixteen freaking gyms, The battle frontier was always a favorite of mine, Bug hunting competition (don't judge me it was fun), and more.

My suggestions are Platinum and the Black & White series.

If you're looking for a challenge though, get a ROM hack such as Blaze Black 2 or Volt White 2. Tons of fun, especially if you're doing a Nuzlocke.
