Whats everyones views on what the game should and shouldnt have?

My opinion is they need a medial class with the secondary weapon of the german panzafaust. With medic kits to heal people and a syringe to revive people who have died.

Opinions?

Sounds a whole lot like the Medic Class from TF2 to me. Personally I wouldn't like this idea for a medic class, because I really am not a big fan of bringing Day of Defeat into a TF2 style of playing. TF2 from my experience is more of a silly and fun style of playing. When DoD is more of a intense and serious style of playing. I personally feel that the new update coming out for DoD has more TF2 styled things coming out with it then I would like. I being a veteran of DoD_Classic, would really like to see the British come back into the game as a playable team. It would also be a nice thing to bring back the staff sergeant class, ( a.k.a the m1.carbine class from classic) and a whole bunch of other classes that were gotten rid of when DoD:S came out. As well maybe bring back some old maps such as DoD_Caen. Anyway, to sum this all up, I do not feel this medic class would be to good of an idea, because back in WW2 there was no medic running around reviving people with a big needle. I feel DoD should be aimed to be more intense, realistic, and serious style of game play.

Yea good point
You ever played enemy territory wolfenstein?
Likes fairly like dod:S, but as you kill me people you gain classes and your gun fires quicker and you reload quicker.

DODS is loosely based on historical fact. Medics in WW2 did not have the ability to revive soldiers from death and injuries took time to heal. If anything, they should add vehicles like BF2. Some jeeps and tanks, etc.

i like the idea of a medic and i dont i the game developers wanted a medic they would have made it... my opinion otherwise i cant think of anything to change

I agree with the tank and jeeps, but i find the medic class maybe making the game more enjoyable, as its all not down to shooting. I no the game is an fps and such but some people prefer to be someone whos more support than a hardcore soldier.

Theres a map on wolfenstein, where the allies have a tank that moves through the map destroying key targets for it to progress. For example the first thing the tank crosses is a bridge, and the axis can blow it up thus stopping the tank from progressing. Once the tank passes the bridge it quickly turns left and blows up a gate. Then it makes its way through an underground system coming out to the main axis fort. It then blows up the main gate, allowing access for the allied forces to get in and plant the charges. Its a really fun map to play and would like to see it incorperated into dod:s.

After playing BF2142 I am almost always aganist medics. In BF2142 once you died you were always revived and so it got kinda pointless.

The porblem with vehicles in DoD would be that the maps are not large enough to support vehicles. Larger Maps are good as good for they are not as intense and good and as the maps we have at the minute. Large maps are also boring for I remembeer the whole battlefield series you had to search out for enemies, wasting gaming time. I like being able to walk ten steps in ava and being able to shot someone.

Well, my opinion of the new beta is that it will make DODS into a easy to learn, arcade game for the younger generation. In other words, it sucks.
Anyway, vehicles are very hard to code with source, moving objects usually kill you in the engine.....plus it would ruin the gameplay. You have to build a game around vehicles, or don't. You can't change it in the middle.

I played my first game of classic DOD the other day...and I want the brits as well. Plus the German semi auto rifle...and definately....BAYONETS

Seriously, I just wish they would port classic DoD over to source engine, then leave it the hell alone.

Bayonets and gun-butting for sure. I never understood why the assault class has a punch.. its already a short range weapon.
vehicles just isnt DoD. save that for quake wars/battlefield series.
some of the missing smg classes brought back would be fine.. everyone wants british back but i ive read the steam forums, it'll never happen.

The things they took OUT of Source are the ones they should've left in
-Bayonetts
-Gun Butt hits
-Tripod option for the bar
-Class with the M1 carbine as the primary weapon

Agreed.

Red Orchestra has decent setup with the vehicles and tank crews... wish they could copy it.
