Opinions on Orisa Experimental Change?

Orisa is in a pretty weak spot right now, having the lowest pick rate (1.78%) of all tanks right now. The experimental change, which "Prevents critical headshot damage while effect [Fortify] is active", is obviously aimed at increasing Orisa's survivability and to "make Fortify more reliable at preventing large bursts of incoming damage." Is this change enough to make Orisa even a viable pick, despite there being a tank like Sigma who can protect his team and has better survivability or Reinhardt who can create space and protect his team better?

Horse bad, horse bad, horse bad, horse bad

The only way to actually down a golden orisa is by headshotting her. without headshots the **** am i supposed to do?
Horse bad

That's true them changing where she cant be headshot is bad what they could of done is up her speed or maybe a bit more health while its activated

I agree this is not the change she needed, but what could be done to her kit to make her viable?

I think a movement speed buff when using Fortify is a good suggestion. Maybe even removing the -30% movement penalty while shooting if Fortify is active would be a good step.

I was going to say speed boost or a smaller head hitbox like bumble bees combat mode

I’m not sure how they would implement a smaller hitbox without going through the process of changing her entire model, which I doubt they want to do. I think removing the movement penalty (only when using Fortify) would be the best change rn

Orisas viability is purely based on other heros. she is fine

I respectfully disagree. When a hero has a sub 2% pick rate in every rank from Silver up over the last 6 months, there is something wrong with that hero. In the age of Widowmakers and Hanzos and general long range damage heroes, Orisa just isn't a strong pick when compared to other options.
Every hero shouldnt have a high pickrate, metas change. Orisa's viability in scrims has always been there. She is like genji, strong when buffed, paper when nerfed. Other heros directly determine her pickrate.

Orisa has anti CC, a nano damage boost for everyone in LOS of her ult, a shield, and a mini grav. She is fine, this buff is insanely ridiculous.

In addition her pickrate in comp below GM has nothing to do with her power level, it may be low in comparison but the character is not fun to begin with. If anything she needs an entire overhaul

idk I use fortify as a get out of dodge card to not die and have people focus on me. I can't comment on the GM meta, but i don't see much of a difference between old and new orisa

How fun she is as a character is up to personal opinion. We need to look at the objective variables. Her kit is powerful, but other tanks can more reliably sustain themselves and their team, take space, etc. There is simply no reason to pick Orisa over say Sig or Rein.
