In jailbreak there are wait times for the maps and to me it seems they become available to nominate after 3 maps have been played since, I think that this should be extended, to stop having to play the same 5 maps every hour, and would increase the amount of maps people are familiar with, and people might find new favorite maps. (I also am really sick of playing Clouds <3)

+1 overplayed maps get played too often, could use an extra 30 mins to an hour of being off the nominate list

yo why is everybody so hateful towards clouds, vip is more played than clouds in the past week probably. you are not getting my vote for that statement.

We've had this discussion countless times.
Like it or not, This won't fix anything.

To save time, I am literally going to quote my post on the matter, copy-paste.

I'm both for and against this... ±0

+1 because this would definitely help the game mode from becoming stale, It'd do exactly as the OP describes. This is exactly the goal we should be setting.

On the other hand; -1.
There DEFINITELY is a reason that some maps are not played. This goes for every gamemode that implements RTV.
Some maps (all due respect) earned their spot in the never touched list.
Regardless of my own opinion, there is clearly three catagories of maps:
  1. Popular maps that are always nominated and played before other maps. (Your 'closequarters' and 'cloud' of thhe world)
  2. Maps that are played after all of the "popular" maps are unable to be played
  3. Maps that are rarely played and only nominated as "troll maps" or because all of the other maps that are worth playing are already nominated or recently played.
It isn't really right or fair, but it is clearly present and accurate.
We should implement this, but additionally we ought to be preforming more analytics to identify maps that fall into that third category and remove them if they cannot otherwise reach the count that the other two categories enjoy.
This IMHO is the best way to provide the best experience with JB and other servers using RTV.

±0 The most played maps aren't bad, but people are getting bored of them. The current cycle is 9.

There isn't a [easy] solution to this problem as the most played maps are the best maps.

Honestly, my idea would be JUST TRY and make a map, try it and using the mapping team for help. You can actually figure out how to use hammer pretty easily.

In the past the map cycle has been upped and had bad results on player population. It's a really tough problem for sure but I think having more maps would be the best decision.

As someone who's tried that rabbit hole, this isn't accurate... Hammer is really not that intuitive. It's honestly not great... I mean no disrespect but like it ain't as easy as install and go at it, there is a learning curve and countless problems with hammer, some utterly infuriating problems at that which in some cases makes it obsolete.

Don't let my words discourage you though, it's just not everyone's cup of tea. Some might find it easy to learn, others might find it like speaking an alien language.

Also, hammer doesn't like Linux very much...

People will vote for the maps they want to play. The excuse for overplayed maps is for the people who voted for something else and didn't get it. The vote goes the way it goes. Yes, it's fine to complain about it because we hate those maps, but people will vote for what they want to vote for. In the end, there's nothing we can do to change people's votes. Plus if the majority is voting for the overplayed maps and we extended the time, they wouldn't play on the server because they don't get to play the maps they want.
