Opinions on the Current State of Bank Robberies

I'm only here to voice my own opinion. Ever since the major changes to the bank robberies were made ie (having to wait inside the blaine county savings for multiple minutes to get money --> Now to the current state), I feel like the rp for bank robberies has been dryer than the sahara desert. Robbing banks just isn't fun, I go in with 3 people, make it out with avg $900k dirty and leave, almost always getting away before a single cop is on the scene, and long before the police even have the slightest chance of catching us. I rarely am in a situation where negotiating, surrendering, or shooting my way out is necassery. When the old bank robbing system was in place, I got booked probably 90% more, but I sure as hell had a lot more fun, because the bank robbery wasn't some "I'm bored let's rob the bank". With the previous system it felt like an actual bank heist; from setting up getaway vehicles to taking hostages, it felt more like an actual bank robbery. Now, I am not a member of any of either of the police forces, but (and correct me if I am wrong) I think the police had more fun dealing with an actual bank robbery, instead of trying to catch someone who is already on the other side of blaine county by the time they arrive to the scene. Aight, my spiel is done so lemme know how y'all feel in the comments.

I don't necessarily care about bank robberies, in real life, flashy robberies rarely happen so for realistic RP the delay addition was to be expected.

What I feel just, in general, is that crim RP isn't much fun. To get those really good weapons, it costs up to 100k to 500k in dirty money just to get something viable to protect yourself from other players or cops. In which case, you really only have two options: farm drug dealing NPC's off the streets or rob a bank. I don't have a problem with both options but farming NPC's is safer but grants way less money about 50k every ~30 minutes depending on RNG. Which, if you want buy weapons or talk to the crim doc, that money goes really fast. Bank robberies are high risk, high reward. I don't mind having to wait for more cash but you have to be insanely fast or smart to get away.

You don't want braindead crims? Fine. But the limited options to make dirty money (and the extreme amount of cops vs. crims) really makes playing criminal just not fun at all.

Bank robberies are about MONEY Roleplay.

In my opinion bank robberies occur way to often. If you take the time to plan out a bank robbery and create the RP it will be more enjoyable. Every bank robbery that I've heard over the radio sounds exactly the same. If you want actual bank robbery RP then don't zoom off as soon as you get the money. Take the time to plan it out.

Z zzemes No one is stopping you from RP'ing that the bank is still being robbed. Police will enjoy it a whole lot more if you even wait for them to show up and pretend ur still robbing it. Just because the script doesnt allow it, doesnt mean you can do it yourself. Theres plenty of ways to RP robbing a bank, and money doesnt always have to been involved.
If you make a RP msg of the pacific bank being robbed, i can tell you police will show up. ( assuming there's plenty in the city to allow it)

Didn’t GTA LE just increase the robbery time on the bank? It should be better now

So all I'm going to say to this is, You want good RP, then make good RP.

You're not forced to leave the bank before the cops arrive just cause you have money already. Take a hostage, grab the cash and wait for the police to show up, when the pd asks what the cameras see etc, tell them good info, give them a plate, or fingerprints or a face, something they can go off of, not just "cameras were blocked they saw nothing" EXPAND your RP from grab and go to something more. Good RP is about you and not what the server offers, at the end of the day, you and the others involved decide how the RP will go.

Robberies always have been and always will be a push & pull effort from both sides. The more effort crims put into their robberies doing all the things mentioned above in others' posts, the more positively the cops will react and respond to the roleplay. This conversation has been had a hundred times in the server's lifetime, and the same answers are given on every single thread. The sooner both sides actually take presented solutions seriously, the quicker these issues will disappear.

I want more petty robberies. I would love a shop robbery script that has the speed of the bank robberies before the nerf. A quick grab and go of a few thousand or something.

I also want bank robberies of different times giving different money. What we have now works for me in that sense.

But petty robberies that cops have to respond to but the odds of finding you would be low, similar to real life.

"Similar to real life" Uhmmm is this from experience.

in real life, i protect people from bad guys and save lives. on the internet, i wanna rob some fuckin' banks and yell at the cops when they show up and make everyone uncomfortable by blowing a hostages brains out their head. thanks to your post, it reminded me that i wanted to witness the new system in place.

what you're explaining is similar to how i used to play Jail a decade ago. it's no different in the fact that at the end of the day, it's roleplay.

for instance, in CS:S, my HUD could display a kill, i could even hear a kill being confirmed, but when i investigated the area as a Guard, if there wasn't anything abnormal, everything would be OK. i know in reality that this Prisoner just killed a Guard, but since I didn't witness it, I would often interrogate the individual instead of just shooting them - i created the roleplay. "what are you doing? why are you out of breath? this track is leading to you", etc. i could've shot him/her/she/helicopter/whatever the **** in the head, but i added the roleplay that made Jail addicting.

Bringing back the css days lmao

Robberies are solely based on the way that the robbers intend to RP it, yes I get this is an economy server, but at the end of the day this is a Roleplay server, where regardless of the secondary mission to make money and become a kingpin, your goal should be as a criminal to create an enjoyable scene for not only yourself and your buddies, but for the police to be able to participate in some sort of enjoyable capacity. I have been in this city for a while and it has given me the great chance to get a great understanding of both sides of the RP, I've robbed countless banks, but I've also attempted to negotiate with multiple hostage takers and armed gunman. Half of the RP is the officers making communication with the robbers in attempts to possibly negate any possible negative outcomes of the situation. If by the time the police officers arrive on the scene, you guys are long gone, I personally think it puts a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouth's, for the sole fact that people come here to Roleplay. In every occasion, people are going to have different methods for how they operate as a criminal. You guys as criminals and the community as a whole should start making an attempt to drive more actually roleplay and communication with the officers or other subjects invovled.

juice juice I disagree with the economy aspect of the argument being overshadowed by roleplay, and here is why:

Economy is an element of roleplay. Economy should exist in a manner that serves roleplay. Treating money as a number and only a number results in its worthlessness as a resource, and that's missing out on a key fuel supply for rewarding time investments - a tangible prize.

Yes, I agree with you 100% in no way was I attempting to say one is more important than the other, I was simply attempting to highlight the fact that even though the Economy exists in a manner that serves roleplay, there is still the fact of the matter that overwhelming focus on the economy and personal gain, could oppose a loss in focus from the also very necessary aspect of Roleplay. Now both sides of the matter are very important for a healthy experience, I'm just trying to highlight that we should be mindful of the possible loss of focus.

I think that the best way to deal with a focus on wealth in some players is to use it to drive their behavior towards roleplay scenarios. There are plenty of people who just love to see a number go up, and love the financial aspect of things. It's easy for me to say it should be done without giving definitive solutions, but I know for sure that trying to change what they play for is an uphill battle. Especially when many people have grown to treat money more as points than an actual currency. What people want can't be changed easily.
