I understand this thread completely. There was a time I was pretty active working for the hospital as a EMT. I soon realized I don't know how to play, per se.
I know how to roleplay. I'm pretty good at roleplaying if you look at my Jail integration from over a decade ago. I know how to use my F buttons, I know how to turn on sirens and all that - but I don't know how to play. That isn't the fault of my trainers because I trained and passed the academy and even got a promotion to Paramedic, but I don't know how to play and there's so much shit that it's intimidating. What is a tweet? What do I do with my money? How do I buy a home? Can I have multiple characters?
I don't have friends because when I think I can use TeamSpeak to talk to people, I start getting advice to use Discord and it's annoying. Are we using TeamSpeak to communicate or Discord to communicate?
So instead of being an active member of the community, I reverted to posting occasionally as I can spend my internet time performing penetration testing, sandboxing, setting up and maintaining VPNs, setting up game servers, networking, etc verse sitting in a GTA5 server and the only thing I know how to do is rescue people when shit hits the fan, which is fun in its own right, but I was looking to expand my knowledge. When I am committed to something, I strive to be the best I can be at it because that's what the military taught me and when I don't understand shit after reading manuals, it's frustrating. Some people learn by reading materials, others learn by getting dirty and I am definitely the latter.
I would love to get back into eGO as I've said before, eGO has been here in my life for over 10 years now and I tried to get back into eGO via GTA5, but it's just confusing to me. I wish we had something similar to an integration experience.
ie; New members that join GTA5 spend 2 days with <x> to learn about the division, game mechanics, roleplaying, growth opportunities, etc. To my knowledge, this does not exist and right now the status is you have to find someone and ask them questions instead of having <x> find you and help you learn, if you're interested. This program could be optional.
This post is just my personal opinion on OP's thread. I'm well aware I can just drive around in GTA5 and do random shit, but that isn't fun to me. I know I can seek people out and barrage them with questions, but I prefer not to.
