Immortality Field is a STUPID ability

I can't even begin to understand the dev's thinking when they added it. A cooldown ability that can make everyone inside of it immune to dying unless broken or expired? It has no place in the game.

It can easily counter ultimates and combos like Grav/Dragon for the prices of a COOLDOWN. It is stupidly overpowered.

Also, no Bap with half a brain is going to put lamp in a place where it can be easily broken, so the "hurr durr just break it forehead" argument is dumb.

But I think my biggest problem with it though is that it encourages bad habits. A Rein overextends with his charge? Gets saved by lamp. Rein lets his shield break and gets shattered? Saved by lamp.

It's a stupid ability that has NO place in this game.

See, I get that, but the cooldown is extremely long. Once used, you have to wait 25 seconds for it. It lasts 5 seconds or it's destroyed, I really don't think it's that OP.

In reality, getting out of ults is something a lot of characters have the ability to do. Roadhog comes to mind where a hook can absolutely knock you out of the ult, or McCree's flashbang with a stun. Immortality Field is just Bap's way of doing it and comparing those against others' abilities, it's actually quite balanced.

I actually disagree and here's why. Rein shatter lasts 2.5 seconds. Zarya grav lasts 4. D.Va bomb has a 3 second cast time. You see the point I'm making?

And while some characters can stun you out of ult, like the examples you said, that requires them to put themselves in a vulnerable spot. It actually requires them to out play you.

Bap field on the other hand does not. Given the distance he can throw it as well as the how large the area inside the field is, there is very little you can do to counter it like you can hook or stun. Often, getting stunned out of ult is your own fault. Bap lamp is not.

Throwing a field strategically as Bap is not that easy. And let's say the enemy team used all the ult's and Bap's field saved them, they would only have 20% of their health left making an easy team wipe.

It has 150 HP, making it extremely easy to kill. Unless the enemy team is braindead, it lasts maybe 2 seconds with someone focusing fire on it, and who cares if it's in a hidden spot? It's not Deathmatch, they have to either defend or attack the point, where if they are pushing or getting pushed, that area won't last long or will be big enough for them.

If you're really getting outplayed by a Bap's field, then bait him into throwing it first then do what you want. Maybe gold players don't have this problem as much as the higher ranks, but that's the way I would counter it.
