Late last night an IC post was made to inform you guys of a new policy that GTA Leadership approved to give PD and the DOJ access to the D8 document. We wanted to address some of your concerns here.
1. "Police will meta or willy nilly search our home"
Leadership is currently discussing ways to restricting house raiding however it is important to remember that these types of infractions should be reported if seen. If police are caught doing this and abusing the raid system they will be removed from employment and the server, we don't allow that kind of behavior.
2. "We didn't get to approve the new law / there was no discussion beforehand to us"
The entire process from the inception of the idea to its release yesterday was done by Leadership. "State Supreme Court" is us, we were simply trying to use "IC jargon" to articulate that Leadership made the decision to release it.
Leadership is constantly having discussions about changing things, adding things, etc. There are some discussions we have that we deal with entirely internally and this was one of them. this was not a law per se and was just a rule/policy change made by leadership. We apologize for any confusion in this.
3. "D8 was the middle man/mediator/informer that raids happened"
This shouldn't be the case. It is solely up to the respective police department to inform the individuals that their property was raided. If that is not done it is a failure on the Police and not on D8. They (D8) should not hold the responsibility of enforcing that.
We hear your concerns and we have allotted time out of our next bi-weekly meeting to address concerns and issues you may have with this decision. There will be a thread released later today about the date of the next bi-weekly meeting, we hope to see you there
