Reviving a thread here.
Back in early Dec I bought myself a Quest 2.
I had NEVER tried a VR unit before. Not even a demo in a store or anything. But I was really intrigued by the fitness apps and their possibilities.
Anyways, I hopped over to Best Buy and picked one up. It took all of maybe 5 minutes to turn on and set up.. and when the default "lobby" loaded.. I my jaw probably and I know I dropped several MF bombs.. I had NO ideal. NO ideal how freaking detail and real it would seem.
Most of the games I have right now are more fitness orientated; boxing games, stuff like that. (FYI, Supernatural is a legit fun workout app).
I did however get Medal Of Honor. It was so... just wow. To have to use one hand to pull a nade off my chest, use the other hand to pull the pin, and then actually have to throw the nade?? And for "it" to calculate the trajectory and speed of my hand to plot the path of the nade??? And the graphics are good. Although, I will admit I wireless paired the Quest 2 with my gaming rig and used SteamVR to power it... but still.
I can see this as being the future. And not just for gaming.
I can connect to my computer thru the Quest 2 and "see" the monitors as if I'm sitting at my desk. I can open documents, edit them, etc.. I'm blown away at the possiblites it presents in the "cooperate/office" world.
