Audio issue

I am getting no sound whatsoever. I have tried pluggin the speakers into both my sound card & the motherboard sound, but am gettin nothing. I did download a driver from creative's site, but since creative redid their site, I apparently downloaded the wrong driver cause it says Audigy 4 when I have an Audigy 2. I did however do research & found the correct driver, but got the follow error message: Your windows drivers is up to date; no upgrade is required. Setup will exit. Do you guys think that I should remove my Audigy 2 card, reboot my system, then shut it down & put the card back in or what? Any & all input would be very helpful. I am running Win XP Pro SP2 (for those who are interested).

Unistall the first driver you downloaded then reinstall the Audigy 2 drivers. Same goes with onboard sound. You have to install all drivers associated with the motherboard to get any sound.

i would go into my control panel, and then to sounds and audio devices, go to the Audio and make sure the default device is set to what you want it to be. same with your recording device
