A friend of mines recently built me a new gaming computer. Tell me what you guys think about it. :D

Windows Vista™ Ultimate
Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz
MSI P6N Diamond 680i
EVGA 8800 GT 512MB
DDR2 2GB (2x1GB)
SAMSUNG HD502IJ 500GB
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (Vista)
BFG 650W ATX PSU

Antec P180 Silver
SAMSUNG 2253BW 22" LCD

Nice Puter Dude Im hoping to have about the same setup on the computer that im planning on biulding in the next 3 months but i want an AMD Phantom instead of A Core Duo, but i like it and if you wana Test that Baby out go out and buy Crysis that wilol push your computer. and that game is awsome.

Looks pretty nice, if you can chuck another 2GB of ram in there.
Also, Ultimate doesn't really add much unless you use bitlocker - imho a better buy is business.

Regardless nice looking machine - hope it works wonderfully for ya!
 
Oh, hey, look over there in that corner (yoinks sound card and runs).

Nice setup. Should last you awhile.

dont worry about what he said. vista is fine with gaming. i have had not one problem what so ever, other than trying to play cod2 but i eventually figured it out and got it to run.

Lol. The only reason why I'm using Vista is because my friend's friend ripped it from his Dell computer.

I have vista and its poor for gaming, every game that requires like 1 gig of ram for xp, requires 2 for vista.

and the free game aeronauts http://aeronauts.gamengame.com/ wont work with vista sp1 :( so that makes me sad. I want my xp back! :<

I only have vista cuz it came installed on my hp.
 
Yeah Vista has some heavy hardware requirements, you need twice more memory than you would for xp and it doesn't give you any advantage in games.

The only advantage is that Direct X 10 is Vista only and there aren't that many games that support Direct X 10 yet. It'll still be a good year or two away before there's enough games for that.

The games that are available, like Crysis, are such systems hogs that even with the latest video cards you can barely get 27-30 fps.
 
see im not crazy! my bro has vista and it requires the comp to work a lil harder. its not bad just works the computer more. thats all.
