Short description of the bug.
Registered fire-arms aren't actually registered
Description of the bug.
During an investigation, officers pick up bullet casings, those casings can be run back to MRPD for testing, they then result in the name of the registered owner of the weapon that was fired.
Problem is, it's not actually tracking that, it's tracking whoever fires the gun. We tested this, Took a civilian's gun that was used in an investigation registered to him in the forensics and we fired it, it was now registered to us when we tested the bullet casings.
What should be happening instead?
Weapons should only show the ACTUAL registered owner, not the person who fired the weapon.
Describe how to replicate the bug.
Hand your personally purchased gun to another player and let them fire it, test the bullet casing at the MRPD forensic lab, voila.
Extra info? NOW, This assumes that forensics is leading back to a serial number from a registered owner. If the analysis is based on some other forensic evidence between bullet casings and the gun, please explain.
