which video card do u like better

DyeMatrix, how would you know it out performs the ATI ??

I personally Like the 3870 X2, and I have used BOTH Cards, I'm not just picking it cause it has a better name, or because im a Fan boy or any of that, I chose it because I like it better.

And its really annoying when someone picks a card, when they haven't even tried the other or any of them
 
Alright, one last point. Software itself is years behind the hardware we put into our machines. In fact, most applications today make little use of the dual core abilities of most of the machines on the market. When it comes down to it, you can buy a brand new card, and it should last you at least 2-3 years before the software catches up with it. Personally, I still use a x800GTO (ATI)...and it gets over 30 fps on our servers (according to net_graph). Yep...that card is well over 4 years old and still holds it own.
 
IMO it depends who builts the card. I'm a biggest fan of ATI, but only when the card is built by ATI, but the price is a killer. Stick with ATI, it won't let you down.
 
I guess you can call me an Nvidia fanboy. I have always bought their products, bought an ATI card once and I hated it. My Nvidia rocks. Will never go back, unless ATI finally puts out something better.
 
there is rumor going around that the 4870x2 is supposed to be 1.5-2 times better than the GX2, which in my mind is overkill, but depending on the price, worth it
 
9800 ftw maybe

the 9800 is only 5pounds or so...if you try to duel SLI those badboys prepare for MOBO snapage lol...then again i have seen a XFX 790i Ultra 3-way SLI Motherboard so 3 9800....wow! no need to upgrade the computer but time for a new montior!

Simple (and no I haven't read all the posts and discussions):

9800 gx2 if you play games

3870 x2 if you benchmark

The main reason for this when two cards are comperable is that ati has almost always had the better benchmark cards for tweaking, but their driver support in recent history is behind nvidea. It takes awhile for their drivers to come out for new games sometimes....ie Bioshock, Crysis, etc.
