What foods do you recommend for Keto Diet?

Keto is extremely unhealthy. It's medically proven that you *need* carbs. The keto diet can cause low blood pressure, kidney stones, constipation, nutrient deficiencies and an increased risk of heart disease.

It can also cause issues with your intestines and can disrupt the balance of good and bad bacteria in your GI tract (a condition called dysbiosis) due to high saturated fat intake and eating less fiber.

Do not do the Keto diet. Any doctor who would tell you otherwise is the same kind of doctor that believe vaccines cause autism. The vast majority of medical professionals all have said that keto is unhealthy and not a sustainable diet which will lead to a plethora of problems.

I hired a personal trainer don't worry, I already have high carbs since I eat rice, potato's, and bread all the time.
She said that I should do it for 3 months and then stop which I'm definitely doing, I'm aware of all the effects of a ketogenic diet, I've already lost 1 pound in a week. If I do feel like I'm having a serious effect then I'll stop. The most I've felt so far is allergies, since its summer.

A personal trainer is not a medical professional. You don't have to listen to me but I'm telling you, it's an unhealthy diet and has been proven by medical professionals.

It's seriously not worth it and I'm hardcore judging your personal trainer for recommending the diet. I would fire that trainer and get a new one, asap. Or atleast tell them that keto is unhealthy and not something you wish to do.

I listen to medical professionals. They know best. Personal trainer just wants you to get the quickest results so you feel like your money is well spent.

One of the worst side-affects of such diets is when you transition back to a regular diet and gain all the weight back. Do it correctly and make life style changes. Diets don't work long term.

Im not going to give you an essay on why keto bad.

Look for alternate sources of protein that aren't just red meats, red meats/fatty foods are what cause the side effects.
  • Breakfast: spinach omelet or scrambled tofu
  • Snack: cucumber strips wrapped in chicken slices or hummus with carrot batons
  • Lunch: seasoned grilled chicken or tempeh with cauliflower rice and vegetables, such as broccoli or oven baked carrots and zucchini
  • Snack: whey isolate or a vegan protein shake
  • Dinner: grilled turkey or vegan burger with a salad containing cucumber, tomato, and feta or a cheese alternative
  • Snack: boiled egg or a small handful of seeds and nuts
boiled eggs, protein bars, nuts.

A ketogenic diet could be an interesting alternative to treat certain conditions and may accelerate weight loss. But it is hard to follow, and it can be heavy on red meat and other fatty, processed, and salty foods that are notoriously unhealthy. We also do not know much about its long-term effects, probably because it’s so hard to stick with that people can’t eat this way for a long time. It is also important to remember that "yo-yo diets" that lead to rapid weight loss fluctuation are associated with increased mortality. Instead of engaging in the next popular diet that would last only a few weeks to months (for most people that includes a ketogenic diet), try to embrace change that is sustainable over the long term. A balanced, unprocessed diet, rich in very colorful fruits and vegetables, lean meats, fish, whole grains, nuts, seeds, olive oil, and lots of water seems to have the best evidence for a long, healthier, vibrant life.
