Hey guys, I was wondering if I should get 9800 GTX Black Edition from XFX or the 9800 GX2. (if no new cards come out by than besides the GTX 200 series) I love the recent price drop of the 9800 GTX, but the 9800 GX2 looks much faster. i'm on a budget so what one is the best for me? I want a really nice card that I won't have to worry about for a while.

if you have the cash for both, my understanding is that the 9800gx2 is better. go for it if you can.

the GX2 is better, but if you have the money for the SLI GTX, go with those, they beat the GX2, unless you SLI GX2's togetther

I think the key word in your question kinda makes that choice for you... BUDGET....

when you build the comp get everything you want except Vid Card... then with what's left of the budget get the best you can... if you can afford.. 1 GTX.. get it... if you can afford a GX2... get it... it kinda makes the choice for you.

Well if you dont mind ATI i have been reading that the 4850 is a killer card for its price and is better than the 9800gtx. Its still the same price range too. If you could afford it id wait and see how they radeon 4870 does and its price. If you prefer nvidia then wait till the 9800gtx+ comes out and its price is supposed to be around $229 USD.

I read the first review of the 4870 512MB

now realize this is 1 review, not a solid fact.

4870 beat the 260 in EVERY benchmark andmatched the 280 in some. and this is all done at possibly a $300 price tag.
