Hello gamers.

Long story short, I have a prebuilt PC. This is the one I bought.

Since I bought it, I upgraded the RAM to two 8gb Corsair DDR4 2400Mhz sticks, and I added a SSD (860 EVO 500GB), so on that portion, I feel pretty good.

However, I literally cannot run FiveM right now, and sometimes I get random stoppages in gameplay because my CPU suckssssss. It peaks to 100% on FiveM, DBD, Overwatch, and other games. I need a new CPU. I am on the stream team, and knowing that my PC is pooping itself while I stream sucks man.

I had some people help me pick between a new CPU and a motherboard - I should also mention here the CPU fun sucks, so they recommended I get a Ryzen CPU with a wraith cooler that comes with.

I do not want to pull the plug yet, so I am asking for your guys's advice. What do you think? Should I wait? Should I also get a new GPU - the 480 never goes past 75% usage and feels great.
 
That I5 7400 isn't the greatest. And that 480 is well a decent GPU for 1080p gaming today.

I would recommend that you go with the new CPU upgrade
you could go with that Amd CPU or this Intel CPU

I GPU upgrade in the future would be also be better.

I'm not the greatest with new pc builds as I do a lot of budget builds so just wait for more responses.

I could be wrong but my ddr4 2400 ram doesn't seem to be compatible with that motherboard

The B560M Pro4 (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9BmmP6/asrock-b560m-pro4-micro-atx-lga1200-motherboard-b560m-pro4) is a newer chipset and actually a couple bucks cheaper, should also work fine with the 2400 MHz ram sticks. Plus, the B560 chipset specifically gives you more flexibility with future RAM upgrades; B460 will limit you to 2666 MHz unless I'm mistaken, whereas with the B560 board you should be able to buy a 3200 MHz or higher RAM kit and just load the XMP profile.

And that's actually an upgrade you might want to consider at some point; higher RAM clocks can give you pretty decent performance improvements, especially coming from 2400 MHz to something like 3200 which is pretty cheap now. The 2400 MHz RAM should work fine though, so don't worry too much if you don't want to spend the money on it.

Oh, but I definitely agree with DeerFat's choice of CPU, that's a really good deal for a 10600K.

U can play most if not all games on a 2070 if you want to spend the extra money

I found out the motherboard that was recommended to me has 128gb max storage and supports a LOT of DDR4. On top of that, the one you recommended is Micro ATX and not ATX. Is there an ATX one you have in mind? Apparently, ATX is better than Micro ATX.

Just because its better, doesn't mean you always go with it over a micro atx. If the micro atx fits all your needs then just stay with the micro atx board and save a few bucks.

Ok, so from the looks of this you need a mobo, CPU, ram, and probably a GPU in the near future, potentially PSU if you're adding more into the machine(I.E, SSD's, hard drives, cd burner if you care about that, or more power-hungry components.)
I'll keep this in mind, but you'll probably want to specify a budget that you're either willing or able to spend on this. PC components aren't cheap, especially now. So if you give us a budget, we might be a little more help.

I'm not going to say "Intel bad", but for the price, the performance isn't that great. If B T has the budget, a Ryzen 5 3600 would be better at nearly the same price point, the ram might be a bottleneck for AMD, but that's an easy upgrade later. Though I do agree with your statement on a GPU upgrade being needed in the near future, though supply is still screwy.

Just get a new cpu & mobo that supports also make sure you have XMP enabled in bios if can

don't buy prebuilts every again

It’s a little pricy, but if you anticipate playing and streaming FiveM I’d recommend the 3700x and a nice cooler.

I also might know a guy with a spare 970…
ps what’s your psu wattage/rating?

Thank you first of all. Second, apparently my PSU has 600W but I do not know what company it is from. Third, if I bought those extra two sticks, would the 2 2400 sticks I have and these 3200 sticks potentially work together well? Fourth, if the Ryzen 7 3700X comes with a wraith cooler, do I really need another one for streaming if I already have fans?
