Okay, please, before someone explodes on me I've already read the following:
Council has already stated that there will be no competetive TF2 ladder teams sanctioned by eGO.
I'm perfectly fine with that. When I joined eGO, it was on the DoD division and that's where I read about the CAL team and how council did not want the clan to be a competitive, ladder ranking, tournament team. I understand their decision and don't have a problem with it. But I do have a reason for underlining the word "ladder".
I know the clan is about a fun community and gaming environment and that making constant competitive matches starts to ruin the fun and things start to become all too serious. I had a friend who played MOHAA competitively, and they actually won free gear from winning tournaments. However, it came at a cost and there was a lot of in-fighting within the clan, leading to the eventual dissipation.
I believe that what I'm asking isn't much. I know the DoD division has a CAL team to take requests from other clans who might want to do a scrim. What I'm suggesting is maybe making a CAL team for TF2 as well. Of course, we wouldn't go out and blatantly challenge other clans to a scrim, because, well... if we were gonna do that, it starts become more like we want to be a ladder team. But, we'd at least have a team if any clan wanted to challenge us.
I haven't heard mention of the DoD CAL team since the new site, so I apologize if that was tossed. I also apologize if the CAL team is actually a universal CAL team that covers all the games we incorporate. And I also apologize if there was a ruling for this matter already. All I've seen are requests for a ladder team. I don't mind any answer that's given, just please don't go off on a tangent on me.
