Questions to everyone.

Why do you log on and play? What reasons do you tell yourself "hey i'm gonna log onto TF2/DODs/CSs and play?"

Everyone has their reasons, I understand that much at least. Almost everyone plays a game to get away from everything else but who plays to get into something? Personally, I play for 2 things; for friends (lolgooutsidebadger), and to better myself against X competition. What and who is X competition? could be anyone. A lot of the warpath regs come to mind albeit warpath has a tendency to degrade into mindless slaughterfest though it's still fun.

And for that matter, what stops you from playing? This is a tricky one, even slightly on thin ice as a lot of people will quit playing what they play for frustrating reasons. I stopped playing WoW because it wasn't fun; because I didn't like a second 40+ hour a week job just to maintain footing in the raiding universe. Mind you this job was completely voluntary and sucked 15$ a month away from me aswell. So i think that may have had something to do with it.


either way. What are your thoughts and input on why you play or why you've quit playing?

i play because there is actually something in the game that just gives me a sence ive completed something (kinda bad, huh)

I quit because i just get a bit bored of either dying, or repeating the same steps over and over and over again... but i always come back to that... i guess thats how i feels

Hmm the reason I play TF2 is it is my purpose in life to give snipers and everyone else on the other team hell in 2fort. I also love dustbowl and warpath's teamwork oriented regulars, thats what keeps me coming back.

Usually I get off if

1) my wife starts complaining
2) I have to go to work
3) household chores, lawn mowing ect.
4) im too tired to play
5) occasionally you know after that first 10 minutes of playing if its not your day

Yeah pretty simple stuff, I also try and keep around 20 hours of playtime and its not easy sometimes.

I play TF2/CS:S/CoD/GMod/Synergy Beta 2.6 because I suck at all sports except for golf.

Plus it relieves me of worries, where I just focus on playing, and get away from the real world.

i have always had a fascination with ww2. i blame my grandfather and his war stories. part of the reason i joined the Marines. perhaps by the time i have grand kids i can tell war stories and there will be a day of defeat Iraq.

i quit when i have other things to do. even if it isn't my day i usually stick around to help keep the server full.

Play: When I'm not busy checking forums, moderating my own forums, or sleeping.
Quit: When I need to check/moderate forums or sleep.

I play games just to have some fun, play with some friends, and to get away from the normal stuff that goes on and just focus on this.

I get off either because I'm bored, my parents want me to do something, or when I get tired

i play because it is fun and i love hangin out wit all eGO members. i usually only stop when i have basketball game...(in 20 min....) or when mom yells at me. or if i see friends. I love EGO!!! ;P

I play socially to make friends and have fun, and just escape out of all of the crap going on in life. I have tons of friends, a girlfriend, a fraternity, etc. outside of gaming, but I also love online gaming communities.

1. My net crashes (main reason)
2. need sleep
3. go to work
4.My headaches become unbearable
5. To go play a gig with my band(not the same as work)
6.I accidently hit F10(I do that sometimes )
7.To talk to someone that needs my help or advice
8. homework
9. food
10. My other half calls for me

I play beacuse I enjoy and it is one of the few things I can do moderatly well with out trying to hard.

I quit playing when I start to get sleepy or if it just isn't going ot be a good day to play.

I stop when im bored, or have to eat or something.

I play for a few reasons :

I enjoy the prospect of being the best at something. very much. Therefore, when I go onto eGo's ranked servers (all of them) and I do well, I'm helping that goal. I intend to eventually lead the scoreboard. in the last 3 days, I've gained about 2000 places... so we'll see how far I get. Watch out, higher ups!

as for stopping... when it comes to music, it always wins. composing, playing with my quartet, anything. that will pull me away pretty quick. that and sleep
