Longest word ever

longest word on the left hand, is stewardess.
i think

and thats pretty rediculous over 150 000 letters in that one word

apparently it's real.

pfft... longest word that can be spelled with the left hand (qwerty keyboard, not dvorak)?

this actually should be rather easy.

Er... abracadabra?
It is in the dictionary.

And a reminder yet again, this is in fact a word. It is not in the dictionary, but it is the chemical formula for titin, the longest known protein, which is necessary for muscle contraction.

ARGH! All this spelling hurts my head. I'm going to take a vacation at Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu. Hehehe

I took a few organic chemistry classes in college, and I can see how that word can be real. You may notice the same "word" repeating over and over again, but it's actually a description of the bond in that molecule. Since it's describing -each- bond between the groups (exceptions not included), and the same type of bond repeats in the molecule, the word will repeat in the name.

I absolutely HATED organic chemistry nomenclature!!!

Edit: I looked it up on wikipedia. Here's the chemical formula:

C(132983)H(211861)N(36149)O(40883)S(693)

Wow. A quote from its entry:

As the largest known protein, titin also has the longest IUPAC name. The full chemical name, containing 189,819 letters, is sometimes stated to be the longest word in the English language. However, professional dictionary writers regard generic names of chemical compounds as verbal formulae rather than as English words.

I think that last part sums it up quite nicely.
