Only boycotts I've heard of are the cops getting boycotted from businesses or mechanic shops. I haven't heard of the cops boycotting any businesses, but unless they were actively harboring fugitives or something extreme, I can't see why that would be a thing.
I feel that a lot of something like this also stems from these one off style scenarios that people forget about and then leave holes in the roleplay and someone like you ends up with your business boycotted with no explanation.
As a community, we do need to do work on continuity of our characters and their memories from incident to incident.
I can speak on that part specifically as the person who put out the PD/BCSO Cop Tax/Ban. Cops got boycotted from my mech shop and then they decided themselves that they were banned from everything else that I owned which isn't true.

Bingo hit the nail on the head. A good portion of the community has a hard time with continuity or long term scenarios etc. I implied a cop tax and was adamant on it and it was going fine and then 2 and half weeks in some people "learned" about it and it turned into this big thing that led into restaurants getting affected too I guess.
Another thing to add that I think most cop players are missing when it comes to these boycotts and bans is that they don't just happen for no reason, or cause we dislike you/or your characters personally. Its as simple as consequences have actions. Almost all of the cops already walk around with bigheads because they haven't started getting punished or held responsible for any misconduct until recently with LEO Complaint forms and the new DOJ (hopefully)
I could breakdown reasonings if you'd like but that seems meaningless at this point, us as civilians/business owners is our way of trying to hold bad cops for their misconduct, and me specifically I dont bring anything personal into it. My business specifically was wronged by x departments so therefore I refused to service x departments at that specific business. I am not petty or an animal.
As for the topic of food decay in general, I think there is big pros and cons from both perspective but apart from that exact function its a very easy problem to see.
People will have mix/maxer mindsets that will avoid rp always. I mean not even half an hour ago I served 50 of my best food item and 25 of my best drink to one cop. This right here in my opinion is a root of the problem. As a business owner it is pretty disheartening to serve into stuff like this. I was even told hey man can you open up and serve some food i'd rather not buy 100 bananas. In both situations its unrealistic and is min/maxing to avoid rp 100%. And in both situations there is zero rp. My rp as a business owner is sitting at a grill and cooking for 5 min straight and then that person will leave the establishment right away. What incentive is there to open up food establishments if at minimum it doesn't atleast give the owner or the staff roleplay. Because I dont know if you are aware but these kinds of places do not make absurd amounts of money or anything, speaking for myself of course but all of my businesses menu's are priced to be semi realistic pricing give or take not 100+ dollar meals etc and the only reason for that is like what was already said in this thread being complaints of food prices being too high. So prices are too high fine thats easy to fix atleast give us the roleplay cause like every other business thats the point is to be an establishment that harbors and outputs roleplay on a roleplay server.
Food decay would fight this awful min maxing mindset. I genuinely dont think it would be as bad as an inconvenience as some are making it out to be be. It also incentivizes those businesses that everyone is always saying is closed to open even more.
