Laptop fans constantly running

Hey guys, so I recently purchased an older Alienware laptop from a local gentleman. He upgraded it to Windows 11 & after doing some research I found out that I'm not able to downgrade it back to Windows 10, which means that I'd have to buy an older copy of Win 10. However, one thing that I've noticed is that when the laptop is in room temperature, the fans will be blowing so hard that it will at times cause a cpu fan check before booting up. However, when the kitchen area gets cold (I leave the laptop on the kitchen table to do my studies), it runs just fine which makes me think that the only time it'll work fine is under winter like conditions. Last I checked, it's not really the best idea to put a laptop into a fridge to keep the components nice and cool, so the only other thing I can think of is to put Windows 10 back on or possibly even put Linux Mint on it.

Bare in mind that I've looked into the possible settings to see what would help to turn off the fans from blowing at max speed, including having absolutely nothing running (not even a browser) and even looking at the power settings in the background. Now this laptop still runs like a tank in terms of its hardware as it has a beefy i7 cpu with an rtx 2070 in it (the gpu is the main reason I purchased the laptop), but I gotta figure out the issue with the fans blowing at max when I'm not even coming close to pushing the limits and I've already heard from others that say that they don't like Win 11 (I personally can't stand the aesthetics of the desktop as well as the build myself).

Anyways, looking for ideas here please.

If he upgraded it to windows 11 from windows 10 using the MS utility, the windows 10 key should still be accessible.

Well now I was told by a fellow gamer that Microsoft started embedding the key in the BIOS, but I cant seem to figure out where it would be. Any ideas on where the Win 10 key would be by chance? I saw a video where it showed that you can backtrack to Win 10, but that option isn't available on this laptop.

Ok so I just did some recent research. So I found out that the laptop is indeed stuck with Windows 11 because I didn't know that each user is only allowed 10 days in which to revert back to Win 10. As a result, now I have to either buy Win 10 or install Linux Mint.

The fan issue can be Thermal paste is literally a brick now, lot of dust in the ventilation system or there is something in the background running you haven't notice which is very unlikely and mostly the 2 first, for the windows problem there may be a possibility, if somehow the key is now linked to your windows account when you reinstall you only have to link so it verifies, i have a permanent key linked to my account due to me upgrading from windows 8 in my old laptop so i dont know if it works like that when you buy a key

Hey all, so wanted to give a little update. So I decided to try out Linux Mint (haven't fully installed it) and already in terms of performance there's a huge difference (I figured this as much since Linux in terms of package is way smaller than any of the Windows packages). So far I've been running it for 2 days and it seems like its purring like a cat, even when I have Firefox up with more than 1 tab. Needless to say im probably going to switch to Linux Mint or maybe even another version of Linux for the laptop (even though im aware that ill have to download other programs for Epic Games and other stuff). Im also fully aware that Linux is mainly a programming language (just like Windows), but Im just not interested in putting the older Windows 7 on the laptop when im more worried about it not being able to understand the newer NVME technology.

I myself have a ROG Laptop, by any chance did you check what setting your laptop is running? Like with gaming laptops there is a Quiet, Performance and Turbo settings depending on what you want out of your laptops performance. I would imagine your Laptop is at Turbo setting making it ramp up in speed and power without doing really anything.
