Evangelion is a masterpiece, but I raise these two shows that were introduced to me as recommendations because I watched it, and have easily become my two all time favorites;


Serial Experiments Lain is an amazing psychological thriller that has the perfect amount of unnerving atmosphere and existential dread


On the exact opposite side of the spectrum is Fooly Cooly, probably the most nonsensical show you'll ever watch. It is also made by the creators of Evangelion and Gurren Lagaan. Blink and you'll miss something. It is a masterpiece in absurdism.

Great suggestions! Id add Dororo next to Katanagatari and Mushi-Shi as well. In the past, I had an issue with the KissAnime app on my phone and wanted to see an episode I wanted to watch for a while that was dubbed. I clicked it in 720p Sub and everything loaded as normal, but when I went to play the video it began playing a dub altered with satire in post-production like the Skippy The Bush Kangaroo cartoon style which included a parody soundtrack. I was upset because I knew there was another version somewhere on their site so after searching through all of those and not finding what I was looking for, I came across Kodi and found the best content through their number of anime add-ons
