Delivered [DISCORD] I would like a Server Updates channel!

I think that there should be a server updates text channel (similar to the one that existed before the discord overhaul). I want one because it would make it easier to track the updates for each server and help inform players of rule changes whenever they occur. Additionally, this channel may persuade players to connect to the server to checkout the update as they may have not known about them otherwise.

An alternative to this (which I wouldn't like) would be to make a server updates role that could be pinged in announcements whenever an update occurs (i don't like this).

I always think change logs are a great idea, it helps keep people updated on whats going on without having to go search for it/hear about it from someone else

I would like to add that we don't just post the link and say "NEW UPDATE, GO LOOK!". Potentially write the changelog out (or summarize it?) and then attach the link. Not everyone is interested in clicking onto the forums, and a quick summary of the changes could be beneficial to casual players.

I think there should be a dedicated channel for rule updates that lists off what has been changed, updated, removed, etc. It @'s people whenever one or more of those things have happened, or something along the lines of that.

As for server notifications, that's probably something that'll take a little longer, but we'll come up with something

not sure how i feel about a ping just because if theres a channel it already gets the little dot next to it in discord when theres something new and thats usually enough for me to check it for stuff like change logs. Could let people opt-in to it with a role tho for those who would want a ping
