There are quite literally only a handful of BC2 servers active at a time. Probably better to note that it's false and a complete shamble than let anyone believe it's the real deal for players who might come across it and think we opened up another server.

As you can see below from a screenshot I just took... hardly much activity overall at a time on the game.

The plot thickens...

We can now see 3 servers, one Laguna Presa (not sure if real or fake eGO, i never played it, I assume it's fake cause EGO is all capitalized), but also 2 Heavy Metal conquests with identical server names. One time out of two, the Jedi mind tricks they are playing will work and I join the fake one.

Worse, an admin is usually there and he seems to be pretending to be Killroy (he's just a level 4, seems fishy, Killroy is a level 50 I'm pretty sure). He banned me the other night when I said the server was fake. Met2670 said he was similarly banned for essentially saying the same thing. That admin will say stuff like ''we have better ping, the real server is the one with lower ping, I will contact EA about the fake server...''

But as met2670 wisely pointed out, whatever the ping, you can easily tell the real from the fake one by using the rules command, it'll trigger the server to show the rules on the real one, and will do nothing/not work on the fake one... That usually makes the admin pretty angry and will get you an automatic kick/ban.

Last but not least, that same admin, fake-Killroy (or was it the fake one??? i am not 100% sure) accused a supposedly disgraced/temporarily banned ego member and told me that this member was behind all this fake server silliness. I won't name that player cause I don't want to slander him since I have no clue if I was talking to the real Killroy or if this was all b.s. from the fake admin...

I apologize if I mixed everything up and there is no fake Killroy, I may be completely loss, I think I'm not? maybe? surely? Just tought you guys should be informed about all this strangeness.

Yaa they are false & we know who it is & EA knows so we are in the process of getting rid of them. The owners of them have been banned from our server. The fake killroy is geezles . Thanks CCCP_Olivier

Glad to see you guys are 10 steps ahead of me and my pretty bad Sherlock Holmes abilities...

Ty for quick reply and for confirming I was not hallucinating about fake killroy, he seemed not remotely as diplomatic and funny as the real one.

It's been in my favourites for...my goodness...almost a decade! I didn't even know the fake one existed until folks started talking about it during the game.

There's one other overseas server I'll play on if yours is empty. Usually if that one's empty eGO is busy and vice versa. Seems to work out for the most part.

Makes me laugh that someones spending real money to run a server in some kind of petty-revenge play tho. heh.

Great point, only new players could be deceived. I think most players see through the ruse as our server has been populated the last few nights I have been playing. I can't believe someone would go through so much trouble, sad life the must live.
