Counter-Strike Not Planned Add ghost to TTT

MS MS is really using the forums like GitLab now with the /cc huh

This was thought of many times before, but things were brought up that eventually led to it not being implemented. Primary things included impact on server performance, as well as the fact that while ghost may have its uses on JB, it's not quite as useful or enjoyable on TTT. On JB, you can practice minigames, try secrets (exceptions apply), explore the map, etc, while on TTT the most you could do is run around a fairly small map that you probably already know pretty well with nothing to do.

Another proposal that was suggested a while ago was ghost death match, where when you're in ghost, you can see other ghosts and have a game of deathmatch with them. Although concerns with this are even further impact on server stability, and also if you don't have 2 DS on then it's pointless.

If JB can run it, I'm sure with enough work TTT could get it working as well, although I understand that we don't have much manpower around here

I've never been a fan of the "it's kind of a niche thing" argument. If some people may find it enjoyable (AKA me, im weird and just like bhopping around), it should be considered for implementation. That's just my opinion though.

I'm just not sure the risk is worth the reward. Performance impact, additional code debt, and a potential to break things for what, bhopping around in a map? Ghost doesn't have the same appeal as JB. There's nothing to practice. Ghost DM is another thing that I'm sure people want but also comes with larger performance impacts.

There are other, more efficient ways to satisfy the needs of those seeking more engaging experiences within the game without jeopardizing the experience for others. Focus your efforts on improvements that bring greater benefits to the entire community, not just a niche group.
