Steam Crashing?

this morning i went to start up TF2. after about 6 minutes at the loading screen i realized its taking quite a while to start. i press my windows button to bring up my start bar, and the steam icon is not in the taskbar. strange. i repeatedly restarted TF2 to see if i get any farther. still no luck. i had to leave, so i turned off my comp and decided to try again later. i get home and the same thing happened. i have no idea why its doing this, last night TF2 ran excellent and did not have any problems whatsoever. so ive been searching for answers but none have worked. please if you have any suggestions please post them.

so i reinstalled steam, now tf2 works again. must of been a file missing or something.
