Not Planned Remove JB map obama

Title pretty much says it all. It's basically a troll map with only 3 games (2 of which are climb) being player regularly and no real good secrets to rebel with other than a simple TP. From what I've heard within the JB community it's like a 90% to 10% ratio of people disliking and liking the map, while most players that like the map are trolling and like it cuz of the name.

I think that removing the map will leave more space for maps that are actually fun and well made.

TLDR: No one likes JB obama map.

(Or remove it untill it would get a rework if that's even possible)

Enough people like obama that it keeps getting played. That's not an accident. I agree that it's ugly and it's too easy to rebel so only climb gets played, but that doesn't really matter if removing the map risks removing players, too. -1 for me.

I mean like i said in my post, it's only nominated and voted on for the name or to troll. I think 5% off the people voting it are actually enjoying the map

If you data supporting that statement, I'd love to see it.

I honestly think it's not the best thing to assume why people vote for it. The most simple way to look at it (in my opinion) is that they vote for it because they want to. I think you may have the 2 confused, and the trolls are actually the 5%, and the rest just simply wana play obama (that's why I vote for it, if there's not a map in pool that I'd rather play)

I mean I'm just going off with what I hear during my time on the server. It honestly surprises me how many people said they actually like the map on this thread. Still I stand by my point that I think it should be removed untill it's remade so it's not climb simulator

Obama is never getting removed unless @DDZ ZioNeX dies. He loves the map.

While most people would agree Obama is trash, it’s still voted by many. People who vote for the map like it because of the insanely easy rebels and general chaos the map brings. (Also for the memes)

Like @kuantum said, if the map isn’t breaking the server, there is no reason to remove it. Especially when the map is played daily.

It is a classic map, and is occasionally fun just to hop on and **** around on, but there are no real playable games. I agree it either needs a major makeover or just be removed.

I will re-iterate that just because some people like a map does not mean we should keep it. Quality over quantity. Restaurants do not keep shitty food items just because some customers like it. Having a a few dozen curated, solid, map list is better than having hundreds of shitty maps. There is a reason why we don't just add every single goddamn JB map on the workshop. There is a reason we don't add every friggen defusal map on our server.

I completely understand the map author's wishes and desires. We should obviously respect their wishes and remove the map from our servers to avoid further offense.

If we go by this logic. lets get rid of quake vip obama undertale and arcade. All of those maps are liked and hated at the same time bc of the games or barely get games played bc of rebelling. just bc people rebel too much u want to get rid of it? This logic makes no sense. If there is an item on the menu that everyone complains about but is one of the most ordered items, are you going to get rid of it, no bc of the fact that most people like it. Everyone will complain about the games or whatever they complain about but if it is really as bad as people say why does it get played this much?

At the core of this I think we need to agree that there can be good maps that people complain about and bad maps that people complain about. It's important to get down to the nitty gritty and analyze a map. What makes it popular? What are the criticisms that people have about a map? Just because a map is popular does not mean it is perfect or can not be improved. Just because a server has a lot of players on it doesn't mean it can't be improved. I understand others like the map, and I am trying to point out that I do not think it is a good map, even if it wasn't T sided.

Regardless, this discussion is over. The map will not be removed until further notice.
