Whatever your opinion of Overwatch 2 or, more specifically, its 5v5 format, you have to acknowledge that it has drawbacks. I believe that people are simply seeking a change of pace, which is acceptable, but because Overwatch 1 is closing down, it's likely that we won't have access to regular 6v6 Overwatch. I'm reminded of Fortnite's removal of popular content as updates, which Overwatch has never done. I simply fear there won't be a way to go back if Overwatch 2 eventually becomes less enjoyable than Overwatch 1.

They will probably implement some type of experimental mode that will have 6v6 mode in it eventually for like a week but who knows. I'll definitely would like to check out how the new pacing of 5v5 turns out to be in actual comp before we start saying to bring back 6v6 already.

they could probably add something like a 6v6 mode in arcade for people that still like 6v6 over 5v5. But also Overwatch 2 can be named as like a new start for overwatch and the pro scene with all these new hero designers making new and better hero's. And it will be more fun and alot of new content as they said like 6 heros a year or something like that in a post.

The problem with keeping 6v6 as a game mode in Overwatch 2 is that all the heroes are balanced for 5v5. Tank for example would be very strong compared to the other roles if there were 2 of them with the current balance of Overwatch 2. Yes they can just revert the stats and abilities back to Overwatch 1, but then what about the new characters? They are balanced for Overwatch 2 not 1 and I doubt they'd rebalance them into 6v6. I think it's time to accept 5v5 and if it becomes less enjoyable then so be it people will just stop playing the game.

I don't know why, i thought OW 1 would become F2P and OW2 was like the new full price retail game, but was focusing more on campaign? I guess it probably was more the idea when Jeff Kaplan was around. I could be wrong but i remember that was the way it would go

Like right? 5v5 might actually speed those anguishable long fights. Thats just die run back. With one tank DPS might be able to actually do something. Cuz usually tanks like zarya just melts them donwn with high bubble charge. I think 5v5 might be good as long as we actuallly can pick which role gets left out. Cuz 2 tanks 1 dps 2 heals would be alot more advantageous. Than 1 2 2. Or 2 2 1.
