When I enter the new Valve (DOD) version I now see what looks like netting instead of smoke, how do I fix that. Also my trees and shrubs are purple.

eh.. try tabbing/in-out a few times.. usually does the trick.

This is a warning to all DOD players on the graphics: Since the new engine is much tougher on graphics cards it will be harder to run at your settings for the old DOD, also alt-tabbing out usually will now cause glitching in the game.

I would agree with mrQ it sounds like your getting artifacts, If you have not dusted out you graphic card and cpu you try that to help it to run cooler might clear up the problem. My card often gets blocked up with dust and after I clean it all works fine again with out artifacts. Remember to remove the cover of the card to clean out the cooling fins inside to allow the air to flow freely.

If you have onboard video then clean the cooler.
