Knew the day would come at some point, but there was always a piece that hoped it never would. Or at least until the Blaze backend plug was pulled for good. 😊

I spent so many hours playing in eGOs BC2 servers it was the game that ultimately roped me into becoming a member. Prior to that I lurked in eGOs DoD servers but never joined.

Thanks to all the members / pubs that made the experience so memorable. It still crosses my thoughts. All the good, and the not so good – I just chuckle about those now. The folks below were some of the ones that would jump into Vent and get our game on damn near every friggin’ day, at some point, for years, in no particular order:

Again, thanks to Artimus and leadership for keeping it around for as long as you did. It routinely placed in the top 5 for BC2 globally due to the hard work by well trained admins and an outstanding player base.

I have memories that will remain with me as long as I live.

 
Thank you all for making it such a fun game. Skagnatti thank you for teaching me how to lead and run things. Maybe they will make a better Bad Company some day but it seems many companies are just in it for money and not the thrill of the game and good gameplay. I played many games of BC2, BF4, BF5, and Call of Duty and its like after many of those the quality went downhill. It was a good ride. It was always fun in the chopper or in jeeps. Skag one of the best times i had with you was the jeep/tank combo. I would repair and keep you going and i would kamakazi the enemy lol. I also loved the broken shotgun sniper that created heated comments. Heres a song to keep you going:

It should be a requirement to make a game as fun as Bad Company 2 before you shut down Bad Company 2.
 
You did all you could Beemer, just like the rest of us in BF Leadership. There just wasn't mods and support available to do the things we wanted to try. I still would have loved to try your jeep race idea, but every mod I found that looked like it might let us do it came up not available. We did what we could, that's all you can do. Besides I was at the helm, any responsibility is mine, not anyone else's.

My comment was not directed at anyone other than EA. EA should create a BC3, they won't, the people who made BC2 are probably no where near the design and creation action of EA. There is too much pay to play going on. It takes a young company (like when EA created BC2) to create something like BC2. Sorry for spinning this thread off into this pathway...

However, Beemer, you have been here (different levels) at eGO the entire time I have been a member. Always professional and a good player on Heavy Metal! Ugh, just a bad situation the men of Bad Company may never recover from. Don't think there is a medic pack, ammo pack, rocket, or sniper's bullet that can pull off a mission to bring BC2 back after Dec. 8.

The mods are what made many of the old games great. I remember map editors being part of the old games. Money took over and the community that could make much better mods were shut out. Why does EA get to decide when the server goes down? The only thing they do is a nod to the real servers that it is ok to proceed. This might be off topic, but it is just like music. You used to buy albums or cd's that you could pass on to whoever you wanted. Everything is now a license that is not transferable. I guess it would be up to congress now to fix these transgressions, but we don't have as much money as EA.
 
There is absolutely not 1 game EA makes that I like other than BFBC2 , like someone said earlier in this post , it is just a $$$ grab for big game companies now , they try to make games so complex that it takes all the fun out of them , (+) the ones that don't make any sense in the 1st place .
 
Well i have to say after years of playing Bad Company 2 that i finally reached the rank of 50 General in game! Its been a long ride to the top and a fitting time as the game is coming to an end.
 
This server was second to none. I remember every single name on that list. Years and years of solid gaming and ball busting. We kept things legit. Lonewolf777- what happened? PM if necessary please
