HELP! New DOD patch crashes my computer

So I've been playing day of defeat on my laptop for the last month and half or so. No problems what-so-ever. The only small thing was that upon clicking on the game it would ask me to update my driver. However, the game would run fine with my outdated driver so I never bothered to update it.

After the new patch came out, I've been playing and more than once I'll just be playing and then all of sudden my game will freeze and then the screen will just turn blue, forcing me to take out the battery (it won't respond to anything else). So as you're probably going to suggest, I most likely need to update my driver. Well heres the thing, I went to go update it from ATI and I the driver update and when I got to the setup the installation wizard said something to the effect of "you do not have any hardware that matches this driver. the setup will now exit."

I guess my main concern is, should I blame the new patch since I've had no problems with DOD until this point or is something wrong with the hardware on my computer and the issue is something bigger?

i am having the same exact problem as you...i to use my laptop and it worked fine until the new update. T_T

Try rolling back to direct 9.0 the will reduce the load on your puter.
