Broadband in Kansas City

Anyone live in the Kansas City area and know of a good ISP, with solid real-world performance for gamers? If so let me know.

TWC is just awful here. They have all sorts of headend packetloss, packetloss between St. Louis and KC (seems like tons of stuff routes through St. Louis), and they are now packetshaping as well. They also will not even acknowledge any of these issues.

Not sure if Verison is there they are rolling out a new service, FIOS i think, that is very fast. Otherwise i think you are stuck as companies divide the areas of coverage, in somewhat monopolistic and non capitalistic manner, i am stuck with TWC cannot even get dsl in my area, so there is no competition and you are screwed.

The networks should be less taxed than in highly populated California. I think it would be faster there.

I have comcast, and they're pretty good. I live in Olathe, KS pretty fast for me.

I don't think FIOS service is available in KC yet. I wouldn't touch Comcast with a ten foot pole (no offense to their customers).

KC is in the middle of the USA so you should have good latency to any server
all i got its ATT Wireless, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint Wireless. but dsl is supposed to come to town here in POOR
